Job Summary:
We are seeking an accomplished and adaptable Research Informatics Specialist for a dual-function position that integrates advanced technical proficiency with strategic business collaboration. The incumbent will act as a liaison between Research and CMC, engaging closely with IT teams to develop, implement, and maintain technical solutions, while proactively identifying informatics-driven innovation opportunities. This position is essential in ensuring that informatics systems are both technically robust and aligned with organizational objectives and end-user requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Technical Engineering & Solution Delivery:
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across informatics systems and hardware.
- Design, develop, and maintain existing informatics platforms, data pipelines, and integration frameworks.
- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
- Serve as a point of contact to support data governance efforts across Research & Development.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for upgrades, support, and innovation.
- Evaluating and selecting systems based on user and business needs.
- In collaboration with the Research and CMC teams, develop training materials and conduct sessions for science staff.
Business Partner:
- Closely partner with scientific stakeholders to understand needs, challenges & priorities and identify informatics opportunities.
- Support cross-functional initiatives that leverage scientific data and technologies to drive business value.
- Support efforts that bring together teams to make the most of information, data, and technology so the organization can reach its goals.
- Advocate for data management and informatics capabilities across departments, promoting adoption and engagement.
Analytics & Data Enablement:
- Support the development of business intelligence dashboards, reports, and analytics tools to empower data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with scientific and technical teams to ensure IT infrastructure and platforms can support complex data analysis, modeling, and advanced computational workflows.
- Monitor system performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- BS/BA in life sciences with 6+ years of experience in an industry setting or MS/MA in life sciences with 4+ years of experience in an industry setting
- Familiar with Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Lab Instrumentation Support
- Scientific understanding of key processes in biologics drug discovery & CMC
- Experience analyzing data using standard scientific data analysis techniques
- Best practices for FAIR data management
- Proficient in SQL
- Data modeling & Management
- Experience with BI tools and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Familiar with Egnyte
- Familiar with Spotfire
- Familiar with LabGuru ELN
- Proficient in Python and R
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, and other relevant factors.
