KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Bain Capital’s global Research & Market Data Services (RDS) team is looking for a Research Associate to provide international industry, economic, and demographic research and information services to deal teams and investment professionals across our worldwide offices. The Research Associate needs to be a creative thinker and able to manage multiple research projects at once in a fast-paced setting. Research projects may be loosely defined, requiring the Research Associate to filter, synthesize, and conceptualize data to deliver innovative solutions. There is a strong emphasis on sourcing and evaluating data and research providers to support due diligence on potential investments.

Research Services:

  • Provide comprehensive, synthesized research support to global deal staff and investment professionals in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong research expertise required. Experience in supporting real estate, insurance, and professional service sectors is preferred.
  • Collaborate proactively with investment professionals and RDS team members to anticipate ongoing information needs and identify research collaboration opportunities.
  • Stay current on relevant industry drivers and trends.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop partnerships with key third-party sources to support research for potential and existing investments.
  • Represent the RDS team in initiatives aimed at enhancing information services and team core competencies.
  • Perform other assigned projects.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial services, consulting, or other fast-paced corporate research environment.
  • Master’s in Information Science preferred but not required.
  • Experience in real estate, insurance, and professional services sectors.
  • Demonstrate competence and creativity in conducting complex research inquiries. Familiar with secondary research tools (e.g., Factiva, AlphaSense, S&P Capital IQ, CoStar, Real Capital Analytics, and other real estate-specific services).
  • Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong service orientation with the ability to problem-solve and improve processes both independently and collaboratively.
  • Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and following through in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with internal business partners.
  • Interest or experience working with AI in research processes is a plus.
  • Eager to learn.
