Overview
As a Renovations Estimator, you will be focused on the end-to-end success of each renovation project from acquisition to resale. The core workflow starts with viewing video and photos of each home and creating a detailed scope of work based on the target home condition outcome. Estimators virtually meet with home designers, and local project management to facilitate a bidding process and subsequently serve as a resource for local PM execution of each home renovation project.
What You’ll Do
Virtual Scope Creation
Create 4-6 home renovation scopes of work weekly.
- Watch Seller walkthrough videos and property assessment data
- Create scope targeted to comps including cost estimation and project risk management
- Finalize the Virtual SOW (Scope of Work) in a fashion that outlines the project direction for the local Opendoor team and General Contractor
Project Management
- Virtually meet with local market teams to solidify In-person Scope of Work
- Collect and incorporate feedback from the local team
- Virtually oversee quality of work and ensure projects stay within budget
- Finalize SOW
- Solicit weekly progress updates for all approved projects
In-Person Quality Control (Less than 5% of your time):
- Visit the local Opendoor market to inspect renovations, ensuring metrics and deadlines are being met.
- Visit homes at Acquisition through Resale stages to ensure:
- Property level issues are addressed
- Virtual systems are accomplishing productivity goals
What You’ll Need
- Experience in renovation project management from acquisition to resale for single family homes.
- Experience in creating scopes of work and estimations.
- High proficiency with technology tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Strong focus, ability to stay organized and to multitask, managing multiple projects concurrently
Bonus points if you have
- Prior experience with ‘flipping’ homes
- Experience working in multiple US based geographies
Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The U.S. pay range for this position in San Francisco is $88,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. We also offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, 12 paid holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
