Job Description SummaryAs a key member of the Reliability Engineering team, the lead Reliability Engineering will provide strategic and hands-on support for GxP Facility Operations and Engineering across Vertex GxP sites. This role will drive the implementation of maintenance and reliability best practices, focusing on maximizing equipment and system performance while ensuring compliance with GxP and Good Engineering Practices (GEP). The ideal candidate will lead initiatives that enhance asset reliability, reduce downtime, and support operational readiness through cross-functional collaboration and data-driven continuous improvementJob DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
  • Execute calibration interval determination assessments for instruments associated with new systems.

  • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance, calibration, and engineering services, deploying best practices across GxP facilities.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of asset life cycle management strategies.

  • Create asset maintenance plans and define required spare parts through field walkdowns and reliability assessments to extend equipment lifespan.

  • Conduct spare parts risk assessments to determine optimal stock levels and reduce unplanned downtime.

  • Prepare and submit change requests for asset, maintenance, calibration, and spare part records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Identify and implement enhancements in CMMS based on equipment performance trends, feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Perform root cause analyses (RCA) on equipment issues to prevent recurrence and reduce downtime.

  • Conduct reliability assessments to identify potential failure modes and define mitigation strategies.

  • Track the completion of CMMS change requests and ensure activation of attributes for systems transitioning into operational readiness.

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve equipment reliability and support informed decision-making.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; deep understanding of how systems operate, fail, and how to optimize performance and lifespan.

  • Solid knowledge of Good Engineering Practices (GEP), Maintenance Best Practices, and Reliability Engineering principles in a GxP context.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical principles, including knowledge of GMP, ISO, GAMP, and ANSI standards.

  • Experience with CMMS platforms, including asset, calibration, and maintenance module configuration.

  • Proven ability to develop and track reliability-focused KPIs and drive data-based improvements.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across Maintenance, Metrology, Engineering, Quality, and other functional teams.

  • Previous GMP experience is strongly preferred.
