Our flagship test, NavDx, is a breakthrough blood-based DNA test for HPV cancers, clinically proven and already trusted by hundreds of physicians and institutions across the U.S.

Opportunity

We are seeking an Intern – Reimbursement to join our team. This individual will play a key role in supporting critical business functions for our Reimbursement Department, as well as occasional projects to support the G&A Department. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual looking to gain broad exposure to day-to-day operations within a growing biotech company.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President, Revenue Cycle Management and Payer Engagement, you will support a variety of operational and financial functions across the company. Duties include:

Administrative & Tracking

  • Assist with reviewing and sorting incoming correspondence related to payers (letters, mail, electronic notifications).
  • Help track and update reimbursement team dashboards or logs (claims status, payer responses, outstanding appeals).
  • Support the organization and filing of payer contracts, appeal letters, and other reimbursement documentation.
  • Maintain spreadsheets for claim denials, appeals, or payment tracking.

Claims & Appeals Support

  • Prepare appeal packets by pulling together necessary documents (EOBs, clinical notes, lab requisitions).
  • Assist with logging appeal submissions and tracking responses from payers.
  • Help identify and categorize common denial reasons.

Reporting & Data Support

  • Compile and summarize information for internal reimbursement reports (weekly/monthly).
  • Assist in running basic data pulls from reimbursement systems under supervision.
  • Support preparation of materials for payer meetings or board-level reporting.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Shadow team members during payer calls or internal reimbursement strategy meetings.
  • Work with Finance to reconcile payments received vs. claims submitted.
  • Provide ad hoc support for reimbursement projects as needed.

G&A Department - HR & Finance Support

  • Occasional ad-hoc projects to support Human Resources, Finance, and Office Management

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
  • Previous experience or exposure to insurance, healthcare, or biotech a plus

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a federal law that describes the national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient’s consent or knowledge. All roles at Naveris require compliance with legal and regulatory requirements of HIPAA and acceptance and adherence to all policies and standards at Naveris. Personnel acknowledges they are personally responsible for reporting any suspected violations or abuse and are required to complete HIPAA training when joining the company.
