THE OPPORTUNITY
Our Education Division is seeking to hire an energetic Regional Director, Sales with educational publishing experience, in the K-12 market, who can partner with schools and communities to extend literacy. Along with classroom books and instructional materials, to meet students’ needs, we provide workshops, extensive teaching resources, and work with communities and long-standing literacy partners to ensure that students receive learning support 24/7 and from birth to adulthood.
Ideal candidates will have a proven outside sales record in the education market with a passion for literacy. You will have the ability to build and cultivate relationships at all levels to enhance Scholastic’s position in the marketplace.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and provide leadership to a regional Account Executive team.
Partner with sales leadership to build vision & sales strategies for driving revenue within the geographically defined region.
Set and monitor regional goals that drive quarterly & annual revenue targets, key performance indicators, and organizational strategies around curriculum solutions, professional learning and family and community engagement offerings.
Expected to grow business within the region each quarter by establishing new business accounts while working to maintain satisfaction and also grow/develop multi-year opportunities with current customer base.
Collaborate with other sales leaders to establish and execute annual priorities/initiatives and provide consistent two-way feedback between the field AEs and sales management.
Facilitate consultative discussions with customers, sales leadership & AEs to determine district needs.
Maintain the highest bar of service and excellence by consistently monitoring progress, evaluating/observing quality sales meetings, regularly communicating with districts with a focus on premier districts.
Partner with field AEs to facilitate meetings, assist to solidify district commitments and deliver high level presentations to potential prospects and new partners, particularly premiere districts.
Maintain highest degree of expertise in literacy instruction and Scholastic product knowledge
Communicate regularly with project managers about the ongoing professional learning needs of the district
Maintain clear & regular communication with all internal and external stakeholders as directed by district leaders
Attend meetings with AEs and sales team to identify new opportunities
Coach and mentor direct reports, provide feedback, and measure progress against individualized goals with clear accountabilities

QualificationsHOW YOU CAN FIT
Ability to maintain a travel schedule of 85%
Excellent skills in Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
5+ years selling strategically across territory generating and closing large opportunities
Sales responsibilities for a minimum of $10 million in revenue
Proven track record of meeting quarterly and annual sales and profitability objectives
Preference for candidates with well established relationships
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Deep Knowledge and experience with Literacy 15+ years’ experience selling to Major-High level accounts
10+ years of actively selling and managing a team of Account Executives
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
