Contract Recruiter responsible for full-cycle hiring of technical and business roles in Taiwan. Source hard-to-find candidates, partner with hiring managers, advise on hiring strategy, and create excellent candidate experiences while helping establish the Taiwan office.
Instrumental builds the manufacturing acceleration platform behind the world’s most complex electronics. We capture digital exhaust and engineering context from assembly lines—images, test logs, BOM data, performance, repair cycles—and our AI engines identify insights that are difficult or impossible for human engineers to find. We accelerate the companies building the AI era by improving manufacturing yield, throughput, and ramp. NVIDIA, Meta, L3Harris, and their manufacturing partners rely on Instrumental to accelerate new product introduction and production.
We're entering an exciting stage of growth as we establish a team in Taiwan. This is a unique opportunity to join as our contract recruiter in the region and play a critical role in shaping the team from the ground up.
If you enjoy solving difficult searches, partnering closely with hiring managers, and helping build a company during an important stage of growth, we'd love to meet you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Build exceptional teams: Own full-cycle recruiting for technical and business roles in Taiwan, identifying and hiring the kind of talent that raises the bar across the company.
- Solve difficult searches: When a search isn't working, rethink the strategy, challenge assumptions, and uncover exceptional candidates that others overlook.
- Champion hiring excellence: Partner with hiring managers to define what great looks like, calibrate talent, and consistently make high-quality hiring decisions.
- Be a trusted talent advisor: Share market insights, influence hiring strategy, and help leaders make informed hiring decisions throughout the search.
- Create an exceptional candidate experience: Build genuine relationships with candidates and represent Instrumental with authenticity and professionalism.
- Help build our Taiwan team: As our contract recruiter in the region, you'll play a key role in scaling our first Taiwan office and establishing the foundation for future growth.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has 5+ years of experience recruiting technical talent, either in-house or at an agency.
- Has experience hiring mechanical engineers or other hardware/manufacturing professions – we specifically have many roles for client-facing engineers
- Is an exceptional sourcer who enjoys uncovering talent that others overlook.
- Communicates confidently with both candidates and hiring managers.
- Is comfortable working independently at a start-up while collaborating with a globally distributed team.
- Speaks and writes fluent Mandarin and English.
This role probably isn't the right fit if…
- You prefer recruiting only for companies with strong employer brands where candidates naturally come to you.
- You rely primarily on inbound applicants instead of proactive sourcing.
- You wait for direction when a search becomes challenging rather than trying new strategies.
- You prefer highly structured environments over fast-moving, evolving teams.
At Instrumental, protecting company and customer information is a shared responsibility. All team members including contractors are expected to handle sensitive employee, financial, and company information in accordance with company security, confidentiality, and privacy policies, and promptly report suspected security incidents or policy violations.
This contract is 3-months to start at 75% hours, with an opportunity to extend as hiring ramps in Taiwan.
