Job Description: The R&D Talent Director will be responsible for co-creating and driving R&D’s Talent & Strategic Workforce Planning strategies - ensuring we attract, develop, and retain a diverse and high-performing workforce. This role will lead initiatives that enable our R&D business to deliver our plans while fostering an inclusive culture, - where every employee feels valued and can contribute to their fullest potential. The role requires a dynamic leader who can develop and implement innovative Talent solutions that align with GSK’s mission and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive talent strategies to attract, develop and retain top diverse talent
  • Deliver and support the implementation of the Strategic Workforce Planning process
  • Deliver talent and succession planning processes (up to executive level) aligned to our workforce plans and strategies to ensure talent readiness for future roles
  • Partner with the Enterprise and Regional teams to deliver and embed initiatives and projects to R&D
  • Diagnose, design and deliver talent interventions that unlock business performance  
  • Lead the design and execution of R&D specific initiatives that promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
  • Partner with HR and senior leadership to integrate our Talent principles into business operations and organizational culture.
  • Analyse workforce data to identify trends and opportunities for improving culture and performance within the organization

Essential Skills:

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities in strategic workforce planning, talent management and HR.
  • Deep understanding of best practices in talent management, succession planning and People Processes
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective talent interventions programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders up to SVP level
  • Analytical skills to assess workforce data and develop actionable insights.
  • Experience in change management and building inclusive organizational cultures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Talent within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Experience in leading Talent and Strategic Workforce Planning initiatives and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Experience influencing senior leadership and driving organizational change.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in HR (e.g., CIPD, ATD)
