Job Summary

The Quality & Performance Coordinator supports the execution of quality assurance, audit, and performance improvement across Revenue Cycle Management Operations. Reporting to the Quality & Performance Improvement Manager, this role conducts routine audits, analyzes performance trends, identifies process gaps, and partners with operational teams to improve accuracy, compliance and efficiency across key functions such as Benefit Verification, Cash Posting, Denials and Accounts Receivable Management.  

This role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to payer requirements, internal policies, and operational standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

This position is a remote role with the ability to sit within any US locality.
Compensation: $23.00- $28.00 Hourly with potential bonus

Key Responsibilities: 

Quality Assurance & Auditing 

  • Conduct structured QA audits across RCM functions including benefit verification, charge capture, payment posting, denial handling, and AR follow-up

  • Evaluate work for accuracy, completeness, compliance, and adherence to standard operating procedures 

  • Document audit findings, error types, and trends using standardized scoring tools 

  • Identify recurring issues, process breakdowns, and training gaps 

  • Escalate high-risk findings or systemic issues to leadership 

Performance Monitoring & Analysis 

  • Track individual and team performance metrics such as productivity, accuracy, denial trends, and rework rates 

  • Analyze audit data to identify patterns, outliers, and improvement opportunities 

  • Support development of scorecards and performance dashboards

  • Provide actionable insights to operational leaders to improve first-pass resolution and reduce rework 

Root Cause Analysis & Improvement Support 

  • Participate in root cause analysis for quality failures, claim errors, and payer denials 

  • Recommend corrective actions, process changes, or training interventions 

  • Monitor effectiveness of improvement initiatives and report outcomes

  • Assist in developing and updating quality standards and audit methodologies 

Training & Coaching Support 

  • Provide feedback to supervisors and training teams regarding performance gaps 

  • Support targeted retraining efforts based on audit findings 

  • Serve as a subject matter resource on quality standards and best practices 

  • Reinforce consistent application of policies and procedures 

  

Data Reporting & Documentation 

  • Maintain accurate records of audits, findings, and corrective actions 

  • Prepare regular reports summarizing quality trends and performance insights 

  • Ensure audit data is captured in centralized systems for leadership review 

  • Assist in preparing materials for operational reviews and performance meetings 

  

Compliance & Risk Management 

  • Ensure adherence to payer rules, billing regulations, and internal policies 

  • Identify potential compliance risks and escalate appropriately 

  • Support internal and external audit readiness activities 

  • Promote standardized processes across RCM operations 

  

Qualifications: 

Experience 

  • 2–4 years of experience in healthcare Revenue Cycle Management 

  • Experience in one or more RCM areas such as AR, billing, denials, payment posting, or eligibility/benefits 

  • Prior quality assurance, auditing, or training experience preferred 

  • Behavioral Health RCM experience a plus 

Knowledge & Skills 

  • Strong understanding of payer rules, claims processes, and denial management 

  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance data 

  • High attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to provide constructive feedback in a professional manner 

  • Proficiency with RCM systems and reporting tools (e.g., AdvancedMD, AthenaHealth, Waystar, etc.) 

  • Excel skills preferred
