What You'll Do
- Provide technical guidance on design best practices for rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing
- Provide technical training, safety training, and operational best practices for related institute spaces and equipment
- Participate in collaborative design reviews of robotic prototypes across teams
- Organize and manage lab spaces and prototyping equipment
- Maintain and repair institute prototyping equipment and materials inventory management
- Part fabrication and post-processing
- Daily hands-on prototyping, testing and debugging
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- A mastery of operating and maintaining rapid prototyping equipment (SLS printers, SLA printers, FDM printers, Laser cutters, epoxy casting)
- Strong debugging and analysis skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Mastery of 3D CAD systems (OnShape, Solidworks, or similar)
- Familiarity with advanced 3D modeling tools and techniques
Bonus
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Skilled with related mechanical prototyping tools and processes (mills, lathes, etc)
- Experience with complex early-stage products and equipment, including robots
- Experience with data acquisition modules and systems
- Hands-on experience operating lab instrumentation (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer, power supply, programmable load)
- Python scripting experience
