About Ratio Therapeutics

Ratio Therapeutics is committed to improving and extending the lives of cancer patients without sacrificing their quality of life. We are a team of passionate scientists, engineers, and business professionals dedicated to advancing the field of targeted radioligand therapy.  To accomplish this, we utilize our proprietary TRILLIUM™ and MACROPA™ platforms:  TRILLIUM™ allows fine-tuning of radioligand pharmacokinetics, while MACROPA™ simplifies the manufacturing process for the alpha-emitting isotope, actinium-225. These enabling platform technologies have resulted in an emergent pipeline of novel therapeutic candidates. We are looking for talented, dedicated, and creative individuals eager to help us advance these technologies from discovery research through clinical development. Join us in our quest to become the leading innovator in radioligand therapy and improve the lives of cancer patients and their families.

About the Position

Ratio is seeking a Radiochemistry Scientist to join a growing team of scientists working in research and development of novel theranostic agents. This role involves radiolabeling and evaluating our proprietary TRILLIUM™ platform, which combines pharmacokinetic modulation with advanced chelation technology. The goal is to develop proprietary small molecule targeting agents that can attack a wide range of cancer targets.  Additionally, the successful candidate will partner in the development of many theranostic vectors and isotopic pairs as well as extensive use of alpha emitters with our proprietary MACROPA™ chelator for alpha targeted radiotherapy.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and be skilled in using radioisotopes for molecular imaging and targeted radiotherapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop radiolabeling methods for small molecules and biologics
  • Develop chromatographic methods to analyze and purify radiolabeled compounds (HPLC, GC, radio-TLC, etc.)
  • Work to become the company’s Radiation Safety Officer
  • Develop formulations suitable for use in animal and human studies
  • Conduct in vitro assays to evaluate and optimize stability of radiolabeled compounds
  • Translate radiolabeling methods to automated synthesis units
  • Aseptically prepare radiolabeled products for preclinical studies
  • Conduct quality control testing of products
  • Maintain clear and accurate records and perform relevant lab maintenance and calibrations
  • Stay up to date on current literature/radiolabeling methods
  • Compose and follow standard operating procedures
  • Interpret data, recognize aberrant results, and propose explanations and next steps
  • Summarize data for reports, patents, and presentations

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry or related field is required
  • Post-graduate radiochemistry experience is highly preferred (post-doc or otherwise)
  • Working knowledge of organic and analytical chemistry
  • Working knowledge of radiochemistry and competency working with radioactive materials
  • Some publications in the field
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in English (both written and oral, as demonstrated by publication record)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and troubleshoot problems
  • Demonstrated ability to readily acquire new skills and techniques
  • Must be able to lift 45 lbs. (handling of lead and tungsten vial/syringe shields)

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience with radiometal manual synthesis, including 111In, 68Ga, 64Cu, 90Y, 177Lu, and 225Ac among others
  • Experience with radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and testing for animal and/or human use
  • Experience working in a CMC environment to help guide preclinical R&D strategy
  • In your CV or cover letter, please highlight isotope- and/or target-specific experience.

The annual base salary for this role is expected to range between $105,000.00 and $125,000.00. This range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, work experience, skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
