The R&D Software Engineer will develop robust backend systems and embedded processing pipelines for physiological monitoring and human movement tracking, focusing on real-time applications and collaboration with R&D teams.
We are seeking highly motivated candidates to contribute to Delsys’ research and development of next-generation, human-centric sensor technology. Software Engineers in this role will focus on building robust backend systems, embedded processing pipelines, and real-time applications for physiological monitoring, human movement tracking, VR/AR experiences, speech analysis, and neural interface technologies.
The position requires expertise in developing signal processing and computer vision pipelines, embedded systems, and scalable software architecture for time-critical applications. Successful candidates will collaborate closely with developers, R&D engineers and scientists, gaining hands-on experience in translating research innovations into deployable technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Implement high-bandwidth real-time signal processing, computer vision, and machine learning pipelines for wearable and non-contact sensors.
• Participate in scoping, designing, and developing new system architectures.
• Implement backend systems and microservices to support data acquisition, processing, and visualization in real-time applications.
• Optimize computational performance and identify bottlenecks in embedded and software systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software pipelines into hardware prototypes and validate system performance in real-world settings.
Requirements
• Currently enrolled in or completed a BS or MS in computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Strong experience in C++ and Python required; familiarity with CUDA, Bash, Powershell, C#, and ability to pick up new languages is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Working knowledge of signal processing or computer vision techniques.
• Experience with version control and CLI is a plus.
• Experience with hardware platforms (NVIDIA Jetson) and sensors (Delsys sensors, machine vision cameras) is a plus.
• Must be able to show valid work eligibility.
