SUMMARY:
A detailed-oriented, passionate and dynamic individual is needed to be an integral part of our quality team to help drive product and process improvements. In this position, you'll collaborate with many functions of the organization – Engineering, Repairs, Assembly Operations, and Supply Chain. You will lead product investigations and data analysis to determine reasons for quality issues and escalations, facilitating actions to drive sustainable solutions that provide measurable long-term improvements.
JOB DUTIES
Analyze customer complaints and investigate field failures - translate learnings into actionable engineering and consumer-facing solutions. You will represent the voice of the consumer and will coordinate corrective actions, follow-ups, and timely reporting
Support suppliers in 8D responses and regular quality resolution update meetings, including written investigation reports and review effectiveness of supplier corrective actions
Participate in product design reviews, FMEAs, quality and safety audits, review respective manufacturing and test documentation to ensure customer quality requirements or conformances are continually met
Identify yield detractors, defects and track product performance, communicating key learnings and developments to appropriate workflows for critical responses and actions
Leads issue tracker meetings with cross functional teams to discuss top issues and delegate corrective actions to cross functional team.
Conduct critical analysis on engineering changes (ECN) to ensure specified changes have no impact on degradation of product quality or function. Act as a product "expert" for cross-functional team member technical questions and concerns
Track all customer quality escalations and create accurate responses for customers to better understand our product, provide efficient responses and effective resolutions
Establish baseline factory KPI metrics (scrap, rework, FPY, etc.), and identify areas of opportunity for improvement assuring clearly documented identification, control, and disposition of nonconformities
Drive continuous improvement of product quality, through reduction and prevention of non-conformances while defining and implementing metrics to evaluate the impact of continuous improvement initiatives
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering or a related field
4+ years of related engineering experience, preferably at a manufacturing company
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and root-cause analysis skills including FMEA, 8D, SPC and FACA
Ability to multi-task and handle tasks with competing priorities effectively
Excellent oral communication & reporting, business correspondence & procedure-writing skills.
Ability to be a team player and work independently
Change agent with energy, passion, and enthusiasm to drive change
Demonstrated expertise to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization particularly regarding Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), customer complaints, and product improvement activities
Demonstrated understanding of product design change and document change control, product and process verification and validation methodologies, and manufacturing / production process control methodologies.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SharePoint a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven, high impact environment
Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
Ability to be a team player and work independently
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May require travel and specific safety training to work in dangerous and extreme environment conditions while collecting data or commissioning new systems at the customer’s location.
