We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer II to join our growing team supporting the Cranial and Spinal Technologies (CST) portfolio. The CST operating unit provides a comprehensive portfolio of proven powerful technologies setting the highest standards of integrity and reliability in Cranial and Spinal care.

This position will require you to be onsite in Memphis, Tennessee at least four days a week with one day a week working remotely.

In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining quality standards for our medical products. You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure that our products meet stringent quality standards. Your responsibilities will include executing design controls and risk management, developing inspection methods, conducting quality assurance tests, and performing statistical analyses to uphold product reliability and compliance.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place (includes development and maintenance of design controls and lifecycle risk management)
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, production control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Must Have: Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Nice to Have -Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3D Modeling - Computer Aided Design
  • ASQ Quality certification – CQE, CSQP, CQA.
  • Hands on experience and proficiency with blueprint reading (including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing), metal machining, metrology and statistical tools .
  • Experience with effective implementation of international standards (eg. FDA, ISO, IEC) and tools for risk management, design and production controls.
  • Usability Engineering or Human Factors Engineering experience
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement initiatives, Corrective and Preventive Actions

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$76,800.00 - $115,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
