About the role

We are seeking a QA engineer to develop and expand the QA function at Quadratic. The ideal candidate has experience contributing to QA in fast-growing companies. Ideally, the candidate has experience with both manual QA and QA automation through Playwright and can lead QA for our complex product, where every change has a downstream effect on numerous interactions. The candidate must be able to thrive in a rapidly changing startup environment.

Key responsibilities

1. Automated testing
Actively build and maintain our end-to-end (E2E) test suite (Playwright): this should test thousands of interactions in the application, both big and small. We currently have hundreds of tests and want to create many more.

2. Manual testing
Use Quadratic every day - continuously test the product manually to identify gaps in our automated testing and bugs before they reach users.

Job requirements

  • 3+ yrs experience with Playwright
  • 3+ yrs as a QA Engineer,
  • 3+ yrs writing Typescript / JavaScript
  • Experience with automated QA on CI

What we’re looking for

  • Typescript / JavaScript competency
  • Track record of a detail-oriented mindset in QA for other software projects (or experience with detail-oriented software work and a desire to switch to QA)
    • Preference for experience with complex tools, such as IDEs, data science tools, and spreadsheets.
  • Experience building and maintaining tests in Playwright
  • Comfortable with spending hours every day using and testing Quadratic
  • Demonstrated passion for sweating the details
