Job Description
The Government of Alberta's Digital Design and Delivery Division (DDD) is hiring QA Automation Developers to support digital transformation initiatives across multiple government ministries. The role focuses on building and maintaining automated testing solutions, ensuring high-quality digital services, and supporting Agile product delivery teams. Developers will collaborate with product owners, developers, designers, and business stakeholders to implement automation strategies, improve software quality, and enable continuous delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks.
- Create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Design and execute functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end tests.
- Develop load, performance, and security tests.
- Implement and maintain automated test suites.
- Support CI/CD quality automation processes.
- Promote BDD/TDD and quality engineering best practices.
- Improve code quality through test coverage and code linting.
- Support reusable testing components and automation frameworks.
- Create automation metrics, dashboards, and quality reports.
- Perform API testing and UI automation.
- Collaborate with Agile Scrum teams during sprint planning and execution.
- Use GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Support AI-enabled testing initiatives where applicable.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- 4+ years of experience creating and modifying automation test scripts.
- 3+ years of experience preparing automation test plans.
- 3+ years of experience using automation testing frameworks.
- 3+ years of experience in load testing, performance testing, security testing, or end-to-end testing.
- 2+ years of experience developing automation scripts using programming languages.
- 2+ years of experience using GitHub.
