About Blitzy

Blitzy is a Boston, MA based Generative AI Start-up on a mission to automate custom software creation to unlock the next industrial revolution. We're building an AI-powered platform capable of autonomously generating enterprise-grade software, powered by thousands of cooperative AI agents working in concert.

We're backed by multiple tier 1 investors, have success as founders at our previous start-up, and hold dozens of Generative AI patents.

Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000/year

Location: 1 Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA (In-person role)

About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional QA Lead to own our quality assurance function and lead our testing team. You'll be instrumental in ensuring our revolutionary AI platform delivers enterprise-grade reliability and user experience. This role offers the unique opportunity to define testing strategies for cutting-edge AI technology while building and leading a team of manual and automation testers.

As our QA Lead, you'll be both a leader and a hands-on practitioner, spending at least half your time creating test cases and performing manual testing while guiding your team to success. You'll work directly with our founding designer and engineering teams to ensure every feature meets our high standards for quality and user experience.

What Success Looks Like
  • You lead a high-performing QA team while remaining deeply hands-on with testing activities
  • You create comprehensive test cases that cover all scenarios for new features and regression testing
  • You establish and maintain QA best practices that support our rapid product development cycle
  • You effectively collaborate with our founding designer to understand UX requirements and translate them into thorough test coverage
  • You manage the QA Jira board efficiently, tracking defects and bugs with accuracy and clarity
  • You serve as the authoritative "voice of QA" across the organization
  • You remove impediments for your team and ensure everyone understands their work and priorities
  • You maintain strong communication with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure alignment on quality standards
Areas of Ownership

Manual Testing Leadership:

  • Define comprehensive test cases for new features based on UX design and requirements
  • Execute hands-on manual testing across web and mobile applications
  • Oversee regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains intact
  • Lead exploratory testing efforts to identify edge cases and potential issues
  • Ensure thorough coverage of user workflows and experience
  • Orchestrate Scrum processes for the QA team
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement

QA Operations:

  • Own and manage the QA Jira board for defect and bug tracking
  • Ensure accurate ticket assignment and priority setting
  • Track and report on quality metrics and team performance
  • Coordinate testing efforts across multiple projects and releases

API & Integration Testing:

  • Understand and test how front-end and back-end systems interact
  • Execute API testing to verify system integrations
  • Collaborate with engineering on integration test coverage

Automation Strategy

  • Understand automation concepts and frameworks (Python/Selenium)
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive manual tests
  • Partner with Automation Engineer to prioritize automation efforts
  • Review and provide input on automated test coverage
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of QA experience with strong emphasis on manual testing
  • Proven track record of hands-on leadership of high performing QA teams
  • Expert-level manual testing skills across web and mobile applications
  • Deep understanding of UX design principles and requirements analysis
  • Experience with API testing and integration testing
  • Strong knowledge of test case design, execution, and management
  • Hands-on experience with bug tracking tools
  • Understanding of automation concepts and frameworks (Python/Selenium a plus)
  • Experience managing QA processes using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Strong attention to detail with a user-focused mindset
