About Gumloop

Gumloop is an AI operating system for enterprises. We enable business teams to build and deploy AI agents in Slack or Microsoft Teams that automate work across hundreds of in-house integrations.

Our workflow product allows teams to build automations on a visual canvas using modular nodes — no engineering bottlenecks required. Our observability, security, and MCP hosting product (Gumstack) gives InfoSec teams the confidence to deploy Gumloop, with its full capabilities and integrations, across their organization.

We’ve raised $23.5M from First Round Capital, Y Combinator, Nexus Ventures, and Shopify Ventures.

Our goal: give the people who do the work the power to automate it.

The Role

You will own Gumloop’s testing strategy end-to-end.

Today we have ~25% test coverage, a basic testing system, and minimal browser automation. You will define what “quality” means at Gumloop and build the systems to enforce it.

You will:

  • Design and implement our testing strategy (unit, integration, E2E, CI)

  • Build a scalable testing framework with clear standards and guardrails

  • Develop systems for testing AI-driven workflows and agents

  • Reduce flakiness, increase coverage, and improve deployment confidence

  • Automate aggressively; use manual QA deliberately and sparingly

  • Partner with product and engineering to prevent bugs before they ship

This is a foundational role with significant ownership.

You’ll Be Successful If You
  • Have built automated test systems for real-world products

  • Think in systems, not individual test cases

  • Care deeply about engineering quality and developer velocity

  • Have experience testing full-stack applications

  • Understand CI/CD and how to enforce quality without slowing teams down

  • Have designed tests for nondeterministic systems (LLMs, AI agents, etc.)

  • Thrive in small, fast-moving teams

If you’ve built products people actually use, years of experience matter less.

What We Offer
  • Competitive Bay Area salary + meaningful equity

  • Full health, dental, and vision

  • 401(k) with match

  • Paid relocation

  • A foundational role shaping the quality bar of an AI-native product

Process
  • Introductory chat

  • Technical interview

  • Paid 2-day work trial where we build together

How to Apply

We receive hundreds of low-effort applications.

If you care about this role, send a short note (bullets are fine) explaining why you’d be a great fit to [email protected] with subject line:

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
