The Work You'll Do:
As a QA Engineer, you will work closely with Sovos customers and team members to ensure products and services work in a fully integrated manner as expected by the customer. In this role, you will apply foundational QA concepts within the Sovos SDLC, collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
More specifically, you will:
- Execute automated test cases, understand their purpose, and analyze outcomes
- Create and maintain basic automated test cases and monitor the team's automated test outputs
- Observe leaders in day-to-day activities and apply learnings to your work
- Align with Sovos Global QA practices and understand the high-level workflow of products
- Ensure relevant sprint information is communicated to scrum team members
- Keep team members informed regarding activity status and blockers
- Apply testing concepts including Black Box Testing, Unit Tests, Integration Tests, Automated Tests, and Regression Tests
- Create test scenarios and execute test suites
- Understand the development lifecycle including branching/merging techniques utilized by the team
- Learn processes and responsibilities for delivering code to Production
- Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance testing efficiency and quality assurance processes
What We Need From You
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physics, graduation from Technical School, or equivalent work experience
- 0-2 years of experience in QA or related field
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Understanding of tools critical to software development
- Efficient use of SDLC tools
- Basic knowledge of relational databases
- Detail-oriented and organized approach to work
- Open-minded attitude with willingness to work within QA best practices and procedures
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI-assisted testing tools and methodologies
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
