The QA Engineer will design and execute test plans, build automated tests, investigate edge cases, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure product quality.

At Greptile we’re working on agents that catch bugs in code. Today that looks like a GitHub bot that reviews pull requests. We review nearly 1B lines of code for over 1,500 companies, including some of the largest tech companies in the world. Problems we’re excited about:

  • Coding standards can be idiosyncratic and are often poorly documented; can we build agents that learn them through osmosis like a new hire might?

  • Can we identify for each customer what types of PR feedback they do and don’t care about, perhaps using some sample efficient RL, in order to increase signal-to-noise ratio?

  • Some bugs are best caught by running the code, potentially against discerning AI-generated E2E tests. Can we autonomously deploy feature branches and use agents to parallel try to break the application to detect bugs?

Commercials:
  • Went from 0→XM in revenue in 11 months, with 1500 customers, growing 25% every month

  • $30M raised from Benchmark, YC, Paul Graham and others.

Team:
  • Engineering: senior and staff engineers that are ex Google, LinkedIn, Rivian, best characterized by extreme intellectual curiosity and very high agency.

  • Head of growth was 3rd growth hire at Figma, led growth for FigJam

  • Enterprise sales lead launched Stripe in the UAE, before that was the first seller at HuggingFace and first few at Postman and New Relic.

  • Designer did this → greptile.com

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute test plans covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios for our core product.

  • Build automated tests for backend services, APIs, and frontend workflows.

  • Proactively investigate edge cases, break flows, and uncover issues in complex LLM-powered features.

  • Collaborate with engineering to reproduce bugs, validate fixes, and maintain product quality.

  • Identify gaps in our testing infrastructure and improve coverage, tooling, and workflows.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 1+ years of experience in QA, SDET, software testing, or software engineering.

  • Experience writing automated tests in JavaScript/TypeScript.

  • Familiarity with test frameworks (e.g., Jest, Playwright, Cypress, pytest).

  • Strong debugging skills and ability to reason about system behavior across backend and frontend components.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
