About the Job
The Red Hat Software Production - Cloud team is looking for a Software Developer with Python skills to join us. In this role, you’ll aid in enabling smooth production and rapid release of Red Hat, Partner and Community cloud content and significantly contribute to the business strategy of market leadership in hybrid cloud technologies.
We maintain and contribute to several Open Source projects, to which you will have a possibility to contribute under your name (example https://github.com/redhat-openshift-ecosystem).
You'll join a globally distributed team with members located for example in Brno, Czech Republic and the United States. You’ll be given a chance to practice your Python knowledge and learn the best practices. You’ll contribute to the Agile project delivery and consult your work with experts and professionals who you’ll for sure find friendly, approachable and very helpful.
We’re trying to keep up with new cloud technologies, therefore working in our team will give you the opportunity to learn and grow.
What You Will Do
Work with the latest technologies in a highly cooperative landscape (e.g. containers, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Flask and REST/GraphQL APIs)
Participate in DevOps culture and apply Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) principles
Develop and maintain software to automatically provision, upgrade, monitor, and heal services in the release pipeline
Design user scenarios, test cases, write automated tests
Provide code and peer reviews
Document and maintain software functionality
Mentor and guide junior team members
Perform root cause analysis
Be one of the primary points of contact for incoming issues raised by stakeholders/clients through Jira tickets and alerts captured by the monitoring, investigate and apply solutions to encountered problems and most importantly identify and design solutions that prevent issues from reoccurring
Identify pipeline workflows that could be automated, design and implement automation
What You Will Bring
Ability to design and develop cloud native applications in Python 3
Solid understanding of object oriented programming principles and design patterns
Advanced knowledge of Python frameworks and libraries
Knowledge of Linux operating system, including command line proficiency, file systems, process management and package management.
Knowledge of Bash scripting, Python scripts, or Ansible
Basic database knowledge (e.g. MongoDB, MySQL or Postgres)
Understanding of networking fundamentals
Curious and collaborative mindset
Fluent English
The following are considered a plus
Experience with Git (GitHub/GitLab) and code reviews
Familiarity with OpenShift administration fundamentals (Kubernetes, Containers)
Familiarity with software development methodologies
Familiarity with monitoring (Splunk, Catchpoint, SignalFx or similar)
Knowledge of the software release process
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Fedora
Experience with incident response processes, including root cause analysis, post-mortem analysis, and implementing preventive measures.

The salary range for this position is $94,550.00 - $151,170.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
