The Psychometrist reports to the Director of Neuropsychology. This position is responsible for administering and scoring neuropsychological tests, using normative tables, maintaining test protocols and test equipment, and keeping track of test forms. The Psychometrist has extensive interaction with patients, medical staff and other Medical Center personnel.Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
Administers neuropsychological tests following clinical instruction under the direction of a member of the Neuropsychology staff. (essential)
Maintains test protocols and test equipment. (essential)
Scores tests and completes data analysis. (essential)
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. 0-1 years related work experience required. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.
Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
Team Work: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.
Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Age based Competencies: Employees in this job must be competent to provide patient care to the following age groups: Young adult: 16-30 years, Middle Age: 30 - 60 years, Elderly: 60 - over.
Social/Environmental Requirements:
Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermittent breaks during the work day do not compromise the work.
Work routine is fairly consistent, but employee needs to be able to use judgment to respond to events several times a week.
No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions
Health Care Status: HCW1: Regular, day-to-day contact; both face-to-face and hands-on (having close contact within three feet for at least five minutes). Examples: physicians, clinical nurses, phlebotomist, medical assistants, PFT tech, and x-ray tech.- Health Care Worker Status may vary by department
Sensory Requirements:
Close work (paperwork, visual examination), Color vision/perception, Visual monotony, Visual clarity <3 feet, Conversation, Telephone, Background Noise.
Physical Requirements:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move through out the hospital campus
This job requires frequent sitting, Keyboard use.There may be occasional Fine Manipulation using both hands.
