Job Description

Allstate is looking for an experienced leader to accelerate its move into the public cloud. This role sits within the Allstate Cloud Engineering group, which is responsible for making cloud adoption seamless and secure across Allstate and its Family of Companies.
The Provisioning Services Managing Engineer leads a team of engineers focused on building, automating, and securing Allstate’s cloud services. This includes managing provisioning services that leverage OpenTofu for infrastructure as code (IaC). The team operates with an XP mindset, actively pairing across time zones and collaborating closely with product managers to deliver scalable, resilient cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a dedicated provisioning services team responsible for designing and implementing infrastructure using OpenTofu and other IaC tools

  • Oversee the development and automation of cloud provisioning workflows across Azure, AWS, and GCP

  • Ensure provisioning practices align with security, compliance, and operational standards

  • Drive adoption of immutable infrastructure and as-a-service models across engineering teams

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and evolve infrastructure roadmaps

  • Promote best practices in infrastructure design, including multi-region deployments, high availability, and stateless/stateful architectures

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence within the provisioning domain

  • Identify creative solutions for technical challenges
     

Job Qualifications
  • 5+ years of application development and infrastructure engineering experience

  • Extensive experience leading engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, facilitating one-on-one coaching sessions, and managing HR-related duties to support team development and organizational alignment

  • Able to mentor different teams across the various engineering practices including extreme programming, product mindset, cloud/as-a-service approach, and infrastructure as code

  • Hands-on style - willingness and competence in producing necessary changes in our infrastructure and processes

  • Adept at facilitating diverse teams across time zones, multi-tasking, and working under pressure to meet aggressive schedule targets

  • Proven experience leading teams in cloud provisioning and automation, especially with Terraform or OpenTofu

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure lifecycle management, including versioning, testing, and deployment of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable infrastructure solutions

  • Experience mentoring engineers in extreme programming, cloud-native architectures, and IaC principles

  • Solid ability to communicate effectively and present ideas & solutions across groups of diverse backgrounds

  • Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional

  • Four-year degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related area preferred

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $112,000.00 - 196,750.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
