Job Overview

We are seeking a prompt engineer to join our team with a focus on prompts and use cases for customers in the APAC region. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to create valuable prompting collateral and support the adoption of our products.

Responsibilities

Prompt development:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prompting efforts related to APAC customers and prospects.
  • Develop and/or advise on prompts for customers in additional verticals as needed.
  • Work with sales, customer solutions, and other engineers to conceptualize, draft, and refine prompts.
  • Conceptualize and generate prompts across diverse subjects and strategies, ranging from document extraction to agentic reasoning and decisioning, using a variety of styles and contexts.
  • Conduct testing and refinement of prompts, iteratively optimizing by using data-driven decisions to meet or exceed customer expectations for performance.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the capabilities and limitations of our products, using this knowledge to design prompts that produce desired outputs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, engineers, and product managers, to align prompt strategies with broader development goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, AI advancements, and user preferences to continuously refine and evolve prompt strategies.

Customer enablement:

  • Collaborate with external partners, customers, and users to gather insights and feedback that inform prompt development strategies.
  • Directly troubleshoot underperforming prompts with customers and prospects.
  • Lead training and info sessions for customers.
  • Create and/or contribute to prompt enablement resources for internal and external users.
  • Occasional travel to customer locations or conferences in support of sales’ and customer solutions’ efforts.

Requirements

  • Must be a native Japanese or traditional Mandarin speaker.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Available for video conferences with customers across North American and Asian time zones, including occasional evening calls as needed. 
  • An understanding of generative AI principles, natural language processing, and user-centered design with an interest in applying these concepts to practical solutions.
  • Exceptional understanding of language nuances, cultural contexts, and communication dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Data-driven mindset, comfortable using analytics tools to analyze user interactions and adjust prompt strategies accordingly.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align prompt strategies with broader company objectives, with focus on solutions and outcomes aligned with the customer.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Compensation (commensurate with experience): $130,000 - $150,000 (base salary) + bonus + equity
