About the Technical Project Manager Position

Working in Verndale's Managed Services department, the Technical Project Manager is the primary point of contact for clients.This person will be tasked with gathering business requirements for client change and feature requests and synthesizing them into functional specifications and tasks for Verndale engineers. In addition to possessing solid coordination skills and the ability to learn quickly, the Technical Project Manager should also be strategically minded, ensuring that both Verndale and our clients do not lose sight of long-term strategic goals even when working on smaller, tactical fixes to client environments.
The ideal candidate for this position will enjoy working in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of clients, technologies, and processes. They should be comfortable managing a high volume of client projects simultaneously and will not be distracted by the need to frequently shift contexts in order to address varied client issues and technical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Engineers to architect solutions that resolve client issues and deliver new features across multiple domains including digital strategy, visual design, user experience, and engineering.
  • Work with both internal teams and clients to plan and execute sprints in an agile development environment.
  • Work closely with clients as well as Verndale's Application Services and Engineering teams to scope, communicate, and deliver bug fixes and new features for clients.
  • Work with clients and internal teams to ensure that all work is in line with clients' short- and long-term strategic goals.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, account managers, and engineering to review existing work items and identify new issues and opportunities.
  • Keep up to date on a broad spectrum of technologies, recognizing when new technologies or updates offer new opportunities for clients.

Qualifications

  • Experience communicating with clients on frequent basis is a must
  • 3 + years experience as a Project Manager managing multiple web project simultaneously
  • Some experience with web content management systems (Sitecore, Episerver, and Kentico are a plus)
  • Analytical and systematic thinker 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Strong attention to detail as well as strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Agency experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle, particularly for web-based software
  • Solid understanding of fundamentals of computer networking and the Internet
