Senior Technical Consultant

The HubSpot Professional Services team is looking for a Senior Technical Consultant to support our highest value recurring service customers. This role is open in either HubSpot's Cambridge, MA or Portsmouth, NH offices.

In this role, you’ll work with some of HubSpot’s most sophisticated customers as their single technical point of contact. Projects can include helping them implement and integrate the HubSpot software, general HubSpot product training, providing support for custom design projects and API integrations, as well as helping teams build better business processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • In the role of Senior Technical Consultant, you will work directly with high-value clients, helping them solve their ongoing HubSpot implementation, integration and support needs. You will primarily deliver the Technical Consulting: Ongoing Access service
  • You will build business relationships with your clients and have impact on their continued success as both a business and HubSpot customer.
  • You will implement your problem solving and solution design skills to be the main technical point of contact for your customers and strive to provide full and complete answers for these clients, primarily consulting on advanced HubSpot usage, front-end work and architecting system integrations and processes.
  • You must be comfortable managing and prioritizing multiple open projects, have experience consulting on RESTful API usage, and love providing complete and thorough client interactions.
  • You will help define the future playbooks for how customers build their technical systems with HubSpot, exploring the why and how for building robust and scalable solutions

What you’ll need

The ideal candidate for the role possess a combination of the below skills and has a drive to develop in all areas. A structured onboarding and ongoing training program will be in place to help you become a master in each area.

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years as a technical or solutions consultant, tier 2 technical customer support specialist, sales engineer or systems analyst

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge & Software Experience

  • Knowledge of common CRM and Marketing Automation system functionality, implementation patterns and integration requirements
  • Advanced Salesforce knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and HTTP in general, how they work/how programmers work with them, designing solutions, and specifically what HubSpot’s APIs can or can’t do
  • Frontend Design/Development - Comfort with HTML, CSS, and familiarity with templating languages (HuBL) and JavaScript/jQuery. You don't need to be a developer, but have an interest in code.

Communication Skills

  • Proven ability to learn and clearly communicate technical concepts
  • Very comfortable speaking with clients on the phone and in written communication, leading and controlling these communications.
  • Ability to run product training for customer technical teams
  • Ability to present to and communicate with multiple roles within your customer’s businesses and within HubSpot
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with high value HubSpot clients
  • Can intuitively prioritize new and urgent customer issues

Problem-Solving Ability:

  • Think outside the standard use cases of the HubSpot product
  • Design scalable, maintainable solutions using your HTML/CSS/Javascript skills
  • Design and plan implementation for complicated systems integrations
  • Find ways for customers with internal roadblocks to get maximum value from HubSpot’s software

Relationship building and consulting skills

  • Ability to project manage technical onboarding for new customers
  • Ability to develop long term technical solutions for customers
  • Ability to actively listen, ask good questions and challenge customers appropriately
  • Ability to work closely with internal account stakeholders
