NLP Project Manager

Workhuman is seeking an NLP Project Manager to join our Workhuman iQ team. This role is responsible for project managing the various initiatives and deliverables within the NLP function, specifically project managing the work of our Annotators, Machine Learning Engineers, and NLP Linguists. This is a collaborative role, working globally with our Engineering and Product Development teams in ensuring the NLP/AI and data analytics product work is delivered in a timely manager, using a very organized and responsive approach. developing infrastructures and platforms for a wide variety of NLP /AI and data analytics products. The person will work with data scientists and engineering teams to project manage the building of products that uncover insights hidden in recognition moments across dozens of countries for our customers, the industry and our company.

Your work will be project-oriented, and you will often be responsible for bringing together the needs of data scientists, engineering team, product managers and other internal customers to provide viable solutions and communicating your thoughts effectively.
This position will report to the Director of NLP.
Main duties & responsibilities:
Perform Strategic analysis (throughout project lifecycles), capacity, financial, timing, process, expectations, resources etc.
Work with Engineering, Product Development, and WHiQ team members to assure each project meets financial, schedule and customer expectations.
Responsible for defining and creating project schedules, effectively managing all programs under their responsibility (NLP product portfolio management).
Clear, concise communication regarding execution of programs upwardly to WHiQ leadership.
Identifying resource constraints and working with NLP management for resolution.
Establish the overall project vision & actions needed to the core team so all stakeholders are clear on what is need from them (& when).
Maintain accurate project schedule based on commitment from core NLP team members, customer, and all project stakeholders.
Conduct status meetings with internal NLP team weekly.
Clearly communicate roles, expectations, accountabilities to team on a regular basis.
Effectively communicate resource needs to WHiQ management with defined workload.
Be a resource to facilitate the resolution of NLP project issues.
Evaluate all NLP projects for effectiveness.
Required skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in software engineer, computer science, computer engineering, data engineering and other related field required.
PMP Certification desired but not required.
3-5 years of experience in a project management role, specifically within an Engineering/Technology/Product team environment, handling technical project related work and deliverables.
Preferred Project Management experience with NLP and AI Product Development.
Preferred knowledge in programming languages in Python, Spark, and Java.
Practical knowledge of data processing needs and trade-offs.
Comfortable handling a high volume of work daily.
Self-motivation, requiring minimal supervision.
Ability to drive accountability and effective collaboration amongst project teams.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills & demonstrated proficient ability to influence others.
Demonstrate sound project management planning, organizing and documentation skills.
Manage and hire interns that will support Annotator NLP work.
Continually demonstrate appetite to learn Project Management Techniques & Principles.
Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment.
Willingness to support several projects at one time, and to accept reprioritization as necessary.
Experience with process design and documentation.
