Sesto Fiorentino is the Headquarter of Thales Italia. It hosts two Domains: Ground Transportation Systems (GTS) and Security (SIX). The activity of GTS domain: Security systems, telecommunications, supervision, control & management information and signalling solutions for trains, trams and metros Regarding railway solutions, Thales is the homologated supplier of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana for Axel Counters, Tunnel Security, Energy Saving, SCADA systems and Asset Management. Italy is Thales Group’s competence centre for tramway signalling solutions. The activity of SIX domain: mission critical solutions and applications for assets and citizens security (supervision, control and information management systems) as well as cybersecurity. Thales offers solutions to protect the information systems and critical data of its civilian and military customers and helps its customers to detect and prevent cyberattacks by devising secure architectures from the design stage, overseeing these architectures and ensures that they are kept in secure working order. Italy is Thales Group’s competence centre for Airport security and operations management solutions.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INTERNSHIP

Address management of projects relevant to a Security, Communication, IT and Integration of civil infrastructures as well as security and operations management solutions and software products, by the achievement of each objective (technical, operational, economic, Financial and business) within the defined
schedule and budget and with expected level quality and safety, leading and managing the execution and implementation of the projects vis-à-vis with the Customer and in coordination with the Company Functions.

ACQUIRED SKILLS AT THE END OF THE INTERNSHIP
• Managing a simple project to achieve the targets, Customer satisfaction and Employer satisfaction
• Ensuring the predefined results on time and within budget and with expected level of Quality
• Accountability for the project profitability, sales and costs.
• Planning and coordination, interfacing with the team members and the company functions, activities and resources of the project for the fulfillment of the project objectives (contract milestones).
• Understanding the contractual terms of a project.
• Supervision and control the production / product integration of project-related systems, which includes the entire supply chain of the specific activities of the project and its products, interfacing with suppliers and engineering.

REQUIREMENTS
• University Degree on Engineering (Electronic, Telecommunication or informatics).
• Sound knowledge of Italian language (mother tongue will be preferable) and English language for daily interaction within international and multi-cultural contexts.
• Autonomous and proactive attitude and behavior. At the same time rigorous and committed.

ACTIVITIES
• On the job training, by working together with Project Managers of SIX/PRS Civil team, focused on the achievement of the target skills.
