Boeing is seeking a Project Management Specialist to join our Sustainable Aviation Technology (SAT) Program Operations team in Tukwila, WA, Arlington, VA, or Cambridge, MA. Our team is currently hiring for a Mid- Level or Senior- Level Project Management Specialist.

The selected candidate will support operation of several key business functions across multiple teams including an agile-based team operating rhythm, continuous improvement activities, supplier management and finance integration, and staffing. The candidate will work closely with managers and program leads across Sustainable Aviation Technology to run the program smoothly and will have the opportunity to assist with specific project management challenges and learn about sustainability and future technologies. This role requires a strategic thinker and problem solver with strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will drive the use of modern tools and practices, consistent organizational systems and integration, and a positive team culture. Significant engagement with peers in partner organizations is anticipated. This role is a vital part of supporting VP-level operations and is key to success in advancing Boeing’s leadership in sustainable aviation.

Position Responsibilities

The Project Management Specialist will work with a program operations team lead to provide VP-level support including integration across the Sustainable Aviation Technology leaders and teams. This includes coordination with many teammates, providing clear and consistent information to leaders, creating and maintaining organized business systems, and supporting integration with business partners and functions. This includes the following key responsibilities.

  • Team Culture & Continuous ImprovementFoster team recognition as embedded in how we operate; Lead retrospective rhythm to inform continuous improvement projects. Work with the team culture focal to schedule and support engagements. 
  • Staffing Lead – Implement and oversee staffing process from identification of need through onboarding and integrate forecast/plan management across SAT (includes headcount governance, Adaptive input integration and staffing forecast) with high first-pass quality. Support onboarding package refinement maintenance.
  • Supplier Management Focal – Serve as primary contact and coordinate procurement needs and invoice payments for several small projects. Coordinate with supplier management, contracts and legal as needed to navigate standard or unique procurements. 
  • Long rang business planning supportBuild and maintain the latest basis of estimate and multi-year plans in collaboration with program leads. Include staffing plan and forecast.   
  • Team Operating Rhythm – Coordinate inputs and deliverables for operating rhythm meetings​ with the program leads. Primary scribe for regular meetings.
  • Business SystemsSupport and enable SAT system architecture enhancements in MS Teams and SharePoint. Lead procurement of key software and IT resources with program leads. Records Information Management focal for SAT. Responsible for designing and updating SAT website.
  • Program Managementrepresent SAT on BTI program management focal team and enhance team PM practices including use of Start Right.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, management, engineering, science or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience).
  • Proven ability to develop and implement organizational and business systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and influence informally and collaborate across global teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Experience working with engineering teams
  • Interest in research and advanced technologies, sustainability, or the future of aviation
  • Demonstrated success in project or portfolio management
  • Experience working with government agencies, academic, or industry stakeholders on collaborative projects, business development, or program management.

Summary Pay Range Experienced: $101,150 - $136,850

Summary Pay Range Senior: $126,650 - 171,350
