This position is for an engineer who can work effectively in a team environment as a Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GN&C) hardware responsible engineer from space vehicle design through execution. The position will report to the Space Vehicle SEIT Department's GN&C Engineering Manager.
The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution.
What You'll Do:
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

What You'll Do:
- Ensure GN&C Hardware is delivered to the Subsystem/System/Assembly Integration & Test while meeting technical (including mission assurance and verification artifacts), budget, and schedule requirements.
- Seamlessly communicate with Hardware Suppliers, Mission Assurance, Supply Chain Management, Program Management and Customers regarding hardware status, timing, technical issues and costing.
- Support the development, test and evaluation of hardware required for GN&C and Line-of-sight (LOS) pointing.
- Support component and system-level requirement verification and validation.
- Understand GN&C components' interfaces.
- Support program and subcontract milestones such as heritage, preliminary design, critical design, test readiness and pre-ship reviews.
- Provide inputs to estimate GN&C hardware and labor costs.
- Support programs from cradle to grave: proposal, concept development trades, GN&C subsystem design, procurement, integration & test, and on-orbit technical support.
- Prepare Statements of Work (SOWs), Procurement Control Drawings (PCDs), and document subcontract deliverables.
- Prepare and give presentations to peers, management, and customers.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
- Periodic travel (typically less than 10%) to non-company locations is required.
- Labor charging is primarily direct program, level-of-effort (LOE) type.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Experience with space hardware.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- A technical foundation with a desire to learn and grow.
- Flexibility to manage differing technical opinions, evolving customer needs, challenging budgets and schedules, and limited resources.
- Effective in both small team and large program work environments with broad responsibilities and minimal oversight.
- A desire to learn and ask questions - our culture fosters intellectual curiosity in a highly collaborative environment.
- Superb writing and presentation skills.
- Goal-oriented with excellent organizational skills, a team mindset, and capable of coming up to speed quickly on assigned programs
