The Project Analyst works under the direct supervision of a program/project manager to apply project management processes to administer, organize, monitor and control program/project activities.

The Project Analyst will gain project management experience by maintaining key project management deliverables e.g., project plan, issue log, project financial and status reporting. The Project Coordinator will work directly with team lead(s) to ensure that project tracking information is kept current.

Responsibilities
 

Project Coordination

  • Uses project planning tool to create and maintain project plan information including forecasts, status, and time/financial tracking
  • Coordinates with program/project managers and team leads to gather, track and report information to coordinate and monitor progress across all projects
  • Supports program/project manager in scheduling project meetings and publishing agendas/notes
  • May run project meetings with program/project manager support

Execution & Delivery

  • Assists with coordination the project activities for a work group / project team to ensure deliverables are completed
  • Assist Project Analyst, Sr. or Project Manager with driving the execution of projects from initiation to production
  • Assist with monitoring project plan execution progress as it pertains to scope and schedule
  • Adhere to best practices and relevant project standards related to the role
  • Identify and escalate project dependencies and overall critical path to ensure the project execution is carried out according to plan

Reporting & Analysis

  • Produce ad hoc reports using project management and relevant reporting tools (CA PPM, Jaspersoft, Excel and Access; JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc.).
  • Monitor project progress against schedule, hours and cost. Report variances to Project Leader/Manager.
  • Assist Program/Project Manager in the preparation of steering committee/status reporting materials.

  • Coordinate with Controllers and/or other project related parties to review and monitor budgets

Education and Qualifications

  • BA or Equivalent
  • Competency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to create presentations using software tools such as MS PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate level of Excel skills e.g., ability to create pivot tables, basic formulas and charts.
  • Familiarity with project methodologies including theoretical aspects of project management nice to have.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., CA PPM, MS Project) nice to have
  • Strong organization, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn, adapt, and apply new concepts and technologies
  • Customer-focused perspective, teamwork, negotiation, conflict management and adaptability.
  • Familiarity with areas of application programming, database and system design or with business-side knowledge of custodian, administrator, transfer agent roles.
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills
  • Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills and is ability to communicate effectively with project team and program/project managers.
