Care of Chan is a premiere event production agency, specializing in memorable food events and purpose-driven experiences that create meaningful and impactful connections. We’ve been called community organizers, connectors, ringleaders, restaurant mavens, social chairs, and party planners. We bring people together over ideas, in real life, and over food whenever possible. 

Care of Chan is looking for Programming Leads to help develop creative narratives and concepts for our event clients.  The Programming Lead is a project-based role best suited for contractors and freelancers

Reports to: Content and Programming Manager 

Responsibilities, including but not limited to: 

  • Working under the direction of the Content and Programming Manager and in collaboration with an Art Lead, formulate strategies and event proposals to pitch to clients
    • Assist with developing overarching narratives for events based on client goals
    • Ideate elements of the guest experience, including venue selection, food moments, entertainment, takeaways, and more
    • Suggest thoughtful collaborators 
    • Collaborate with the Production Manager to ensure that proposals are in line with event budget guardrails
  • Create and format decks and presentation materials on time, according to deadlines set by Content and Programming Manager,  with meticulous attention to format, grammar, and deck conventions
    • Incorporate feedback into event proposals as requested
    • Handle updating client revisions
  • Research current food trends, chefs and restaurants both locally and internationally for proposals

Requirements: 

  • 2-4 years of strong programming and copywriting experience, preferably with food or lifestyle brands
  • Finger on the pulse of trends within the food industry as well as in culture at large 
  • Thorough understanding of event budgets and the market costs/rates for vendors and production elements put forth in proposals
  • A strong foundation in writing and a passion for expressing ideas to a range of audiences
  • Highly organized and a multi-tasker who can work on several projects at once, with ability to prioritize next steps and deliverables 
  • The ability to communicate professionally, and confidently –  in person and over email. Someone who we can trust to speak to and on behalf of any of our clients
  • A proactive approach and a quick, creative mind
  • Solid work ethic with great attention to detail
  • Love of food and drink

Fee:  Project-based
