General Description
The Program Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking various project, program, and portfolio information. This role involves close collaboration and partnership with portfolio team members to create and develop reports, maintain tracking information, and support or lead initiatives in alignment with the company’s R&D governance committees, annual portfolio business reporting, and process improvement efforts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain and drive the organization and quality of portfolio level reports, governance dashboards and metrics.
- Manage governance meetings by working with the broader global portfolio and program management (GPPM) group to collect agendas, track and follow-up on action items, and create meeting minutes to capture program and portfolio investment and strategic decisions.
- Utilize analytical abilities to support portfolio report content, committee presentations, and review for consistency.
- Identify issues and clearly communicate potential problems effectively, looking beyond the obvious for innovative and simple solutions.
- Develop and maintain clear and concise process guidance documents for various audiences.
- Champion ways to accelerate and optimize processes while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Contribute directly to the development of portfolio and governance communications through improved processes and technical solutions, streamlining information for monthly and quarterly reporting needs.
- Collaborate with portfolio team members through cross-functional communication to meet time-sensitive deliverables.
- Actively participate in Portfolio and broader GPPM staff meetings.
Education Required:
- BA/BS Degree
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years’ experience in Business Administration, Project Management, Life Sciences, clinical or drug development (preferred) OR Master’s Degree or above with 4+ years’ experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Excel pivot tables, PowerPoint, and SharePoint with ability to work with web-based platforms and emerging AI capabilities.
- PMP certification a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a global team setting with staff of diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
- Demonstrated ability to create structure and clarity in ambiguous situations
- Proven ability to execute and perform autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Logical problem-solving skills, with the ability to look beyond immediate problems to consider root causes and address them.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High degree of personal responsibility.
