Company Description: Pathstone is a growing wealth management firm serving ultra-high net worth families, single family offices, foundations, and endowments. We are united by a clear purpose: to help clients pursue their Preferred Life — with clarity, confidence, and long-term support across the full landscape of wealth and well-being.

Our services include investment advisory, as well as integrated planning and coordination across key areas such as tax strategy, risk management guidance, wealth and estate planning support, philanthropic planning, and family governance — helping clients navigate complexity and make informed decisions aligned with their goals.

With more than 20 office locations and over $100 billion in client assets under management, advisory, administration, and related services, Pathstone has expanded significantly over the past five years, reflecting sustained momentum and continued investment in our team and platform.

Pathstone is committed to making a meaningful difference for clients and their families, while fostering a supportive, purpose-driven environment for our professionals. Team members are encouraged to pursue their interests and contribute to the firm’s culture through committees and initiatives that help shape our shared mission.

Our people are our greatest asset, and we offer a competitive, flexible benefits program designed to support life both inside and outside of work. Benefits include comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, flexible spending options, flexible PTO, life insurance, education support, a 401(k) plan, parental leave, and more.

The Role: Within our team, the Program Manager is a high-judgment, systems-oriented leader responsible for orchestrating complex marketing programs while ensuring critical initiatives are executed with rigor, clarity, and momentum. This role operates comfortably at two altitudes: shaping and managing the big-picture marketing roadmap, while also stepping into detailed project management for priority work.

A core responsibility of this role is maintaining and evolving the systems, tools, and operating rhythms that enable the marketing organization to function smoothly and effectively.

This is a role for someone who sees structure as an enabler of creativity, progress, and quality—and who takes real pride in helping teams do their best work, on time and with intention.

What You’ll Bring:

We are looking for experienced, thoughtful operators who love making complex things work well. If you think you might be a good fit, you’ll recognize yourself in the following:

  • You love turning ambition into action—connecting vision, strategy, and execution.
  • You are equally comfortable zooming out to see interdependencies and zooming in to manage details that matter.
  • You think in systems, roadmaps, and sequences—anticipating downstream impacts and proactively solving problems.
  • You bring calm, clarity, and structure to ambiguous or fast-moving environments.
  • You are not precious about role boundaries—you are willing to roll up your sleeves when the work requires it.
  • You value accountability and follow-through, and you are comfortable holding others (and yourself) responsible for commitments.
  • You communicate clearly and directly, helping teams stay aligned without creating unnecessary process.
  • You are naturally organized, but flexible—able to adapt plans as realities change.

What You’ll Do:

  • Program-Level Leadership
    • Own and manage the marketing program roadmap, ensuring alignment across initiatives, teams, and timelines.
    • Translate strategic priorities into clear programs, phases, milestones, and dependencies.
Identify risks, resourcing needs, and sequencing challenges early—and manage them proactively.
    • Ensure the right work is happening at the right time, for the right reasons.
  • Project Management Systems & Operations
    • Own, maintain, and continuously improve the project and program management systems used by the marketing team.
    • Establish clear workflows, standards, and operating rhythms that support visibility and accountability.
    • Ensure projects, initiatives, and tasks are clearly defined, assigned, tracked, and completed.
    • Create simple, effective mechanisms for prioritization, progress tracking, and reporting.
  • Hands-On Project Management for Key Initiatives
    • Serve as the primary project manager for select, high-priority efforts.
      • This includes Founders’ Studio Online, a digital platform and content ecosystem that extends Pathstone’s thinking, tools, and point of view to a broader audience.
    • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and task ownership.
    • Coordinate with contributors across Brand, Story & Editorial, Digital, Founders’ Studio, and external partners as needed.
    • Actively manage scope, timelines, and tradeoffs to keep work moving forward.
  • Accountability & Communication
    • Hold team members accountable to agreed-upon responsibilities, deadlines, and deliverables.
    • Surface risks, slippage, or misalignment early and constructively.
    • Ensure stakeholders have clear visibility into progress, decisions, and next steps.
    • Support leadership with concise, actionable updates and insights.

What You’ll Need:

  • 7+ years of experience in project and/or program management within marketing, brand, digital, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stream programs while also executing detailed project plans.
  • Experience owning and operating project management systems—not just participating in them.
  • Strong systems thinking, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • A track record of working effectively with creative, strategic, and technical partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working in evolving environments where not everything is fully defined upfront.
  • Familiarity with contemporary project and program management tools and platforms.
  • Experience supporting digital products, platforms, or content-driven initiatives is a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

You also bring the fundamentals we expect of a senior professional: sound judgment, reliability, respect for others’ time and expertise, and a strong sense of ownership.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Marketing initiatives move forward with clarity, momentum, and accountability.
  • Teams understand priorities, responsibilities, and deadlines—and meet them.
  • Project and program management systems are trusted, current, and genuinely useful.
  • Leadership has confidence in timelines, execution, and tradeoffs.
  • Key initiatives, including Founders’ Studio Online, ship reliably and continue to improve over time.

Pay Transparency:

Pathstone’s expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $85,000 - $100,000 per year. The actual base compensation selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) experience, education, specialty and training. The successful candidate(s) may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus award.

Visa Sponsorship: Please note, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for the position offered. Accordingly, we are unable to hire individuals who require, or will require, employment visa sponsorship either now or in the future.

Pathstone is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
