Job Description

Overview: As a Programme Director you will operate as both a regional project director and a senior solution architect for our Planning, Budgeting & Financial Consolidation offerings. You will steer multiple concurrent customer programs from scoping through adoption while dedicating up to 50% of your time to pre‑sales activities that generate professional‑services revenue.

Partnering closely with Sales Directors, you will shape deal strategy, scope Statements of Work (SOWs), and present executive‑level delivery proposals. Internally, you will mentor and coach a team of Solution Architects and Consultants, safeguard delivery excellence, and own utilization and margin targets for your portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Below is an indicative split of your time. Actual allocation will flex based on pipeline and active project load.

Delivery & Programme Leadership (~50%)

  • Serve as project director on large or complex implementations, owning delivery governance, commercials, and client success.
  • Establish programme structure, communication cadence, and risk‑management processes across customer, partner, and insightsoftware teams.

  • Provide technical and functional vision, guidance, and quality assurance to Solution Architects across parallel work‑streams.
  • Champion delivery standards, agile best practices, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
  • Escalate and resolve project issues promptly, protecting both customer satisfaction and commercial outcomes.

Sales & Business Development (~50%)

  • Lead services‑scoping workshops during sales cycles; craft persuasive SOWs that set clear scope, staffing, timeline, and profitability expectations.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to build delivery road‑maps and value propositions that accelerate deal velocity.
  • Present proposals and solution architectures to C‑suite and senior finance leadership, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities within existing accounts and hand off qualified leads to Sales / Customer Success.
  • Contribute to quarterly revenue forecasting, pipeline reviews, and pricing strategy; maintain discipline around bookings, backlog, and utilization metrics.
  • Build and nurture relationships with strategic implementation partners to augment capacity and drive a healthy partner‑to‑insightsoftware revenue mix.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

    Key Facts About Boston Tech

    • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
    • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
    • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
    • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
    • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
    • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
