About the Opportunity

The Center for Community Health Education Research and Service, Inc. (CCHERS) seeks a Program Coordinator for the HEART workforce development grant. This position will be a full-time benefits benefits-eligible position of 40 hours per week. This position will be for a duration of two years with the possibility of renewal based on available funding.


CCHERS is a community-based organization that is a community/academic partnership established in 1991, comprised of Boston Medical Center, the Boston Public Health Commission, Boston University School of Medicine, Northeastern University Bouvé College of Health Sciences, and an established network of fifteen community health centers serving the racially and ethnically diverse populations of Boston.  


This individual would be working with the HEART (Healthcare Employment Access Recruitment and Training) workforce development initiative within CCHERS. The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation of key components of a home care training and certification program, home health aide alumni network, and supporting the HEART initiative's work. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the HEART Program Manager to implement the program and collaborate with the key stakeholders to ensure the program is on schedule and monitor student progress, and vendor activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, degree in progress or work/internship experience in public health, education, human services, or related field is preferred.

  • Experience working with underserved and diverse communities.

  • Strong understanding and practice of cultural humility.

  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and conducting presentations.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

  • Bilingual preferred but not required, ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, or other language.

  • Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant or Office Admin Assistant 

  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures 

  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines 

  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular) 

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Must be a Self-starter, able to multi-task and set priorities. 

  • Demonstrated flexibility in managing multiple priorities, establishing, and adhering to deadlines.

The primary work location for this position is the Boston, MA campus.  This position currently operates under a hybrid model, requiring a combination of on-campus presence along with a remote work option. The remote work location must be reviewed and approved. The specific work schedule will be dependent upon the operational needs of the CCHERS and the hybrid model is subject to change based on business needs and college and university policies and guidance.  The interview process will begin immediately and may be conducted remotely or in person.

Expected Hiring Range:

$23.02 - $31.66
