We're looking for a highly organized, client-focused Production Manager to lead learning engagements from kickoff through delivery. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for clients while coordinating cross-functional teams across Instructional Design, Creative, Development, Quality Assurance, and Learning Strategy to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest level of quality.
This is an individual contributor role and does not include direct people management responsibilities.
About the RoleAs a Production Manager, you'll oversee the successful delivery of learning and development projects while maintaining strong client relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle. You'll manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, and communication while ensuring work progresses efficiently from project kickoff through completion.
This role also supports ELB Learning's public sector engagements, requiring experience managing projects within federal, state, local government, and education environments, while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, reporting standards, and delivery milestones.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngagement DeliveryLead client engagements from kickoff through closeout or ongoing managed-service delivery.
Adapt ELB Learning's production methodology to fit each engagement.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and documentation within Planview.
Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed.
Manage scope changes and facilitate change management processes.
Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients.
Lead kickoff meetings, status calls, milestone reviews, and project communications.
Build trusted client relationships through proactive communication.
Manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate Instructional Design, Creative, Development, Quality Assurance, and Learning Strategy teams.
Ensure work flows efficiently across departments.
Identify and remove project roadblocks.
Escalate risks and issues when appropriate.
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and resource utilization.
Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
Deliver projects within approved scope, schedule, and budget.
Identify and manage project risks.
Develop mitigation strategies and track issue resolution.
Ensure all required ID, Creative, Development, and QA reviews are completed before client delivery.
Manage delivery of federal, state, local government, and education contracts.
Build and maintain integrated project schedules, Gantt charts, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
Prepare monthly status reports and other contract deliverables.
Track project funding and budget utilization.
Support contract modifications and scope changes.
Lead customer status meetings and technical reviews with government stakeholders.
Conduct onsite visits to government and military installations as required.
Maintain project documentation that meets audit and compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
Lead project retrospectives and wrap-up meetings.
Recommend and implement continuous process improvements.
Support consistent application of ELB Learning's production management standards.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Proven experience managing projects or production within the learning and development industry.
Working knowledge of instructional design principles and eLearning production workflows.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Experience using project management software and collaboration tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus.
3+ years managing projects under U.S. Government contracts as either a prime contractor or subcontractor.
Experience producing recurring government deliverables, including monthly status reports, integrated schedules, and executive briefings.
Proficiency using Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar scheduling tools to develop and maintain Gantt charts.
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation.
Ability to travel approximately 25%, including visits to customer sites and military installations.
Located in Texas, New Mexico, or Oklahoma. Strong candidates located elsewhere within the continental United States will also be considered.
Active (or recently active) Secret Security Clearance or higher.
Military service or prior experience as a U.S. Government civilian.
Experience supporting federal learning and development programs.
