Vice President, Product Development – Ninja

The Vice President of Motorized Product Development will be a Product Owner and thought leader of the motorized division and will be the key strategist for the motorized global roadmap development. The individual will have a passion for bringing innovative, successful new products to market; is a strategic thinker who strives to align category goals and objectives with company mission, moving forward vigorously with consensus.

As the leader of the category, with self-directed capabilities, the Vice President will work with all functions within the organization to represent their respective product lines with a high level of energy, organization and professionalism. The Vice President is a strategic thinker who strives to align category goals and objectives with company mission, moving forward vigorously with consensus.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and communicating fact-based definitions for the products, pricing and promotional activities required to achieve the category goals; the right product at the right price at the right time
- Lead consumer product roadmap initiatives to expand the small kitchen appliance subcategory in NA and Globally.
- Define product features based on the market plans, regional competitive and market requirements, backlog prioritization map to strategic value for the customer. Define and track key metrics to deliver 5-star rating products and manage consumer satisfaction.
- The development and ultimate achievement of the financial measurements of the category (gross sales, gross margin, EBITDA)
- Maintaining an expert level knowledge base of the category, the competition and the consumer (i.e. consumer research methodologies, secondary syndicated data, creative marketing skills to develop the brand)
- Product Development Strategy - Producing a fully integrated product strategy ensuring cradle to grave product life cycle and renewal plans encompassing product positioning, development strategy and production strategy
- Management of Product - Leading the NPD process with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Sales to ensure commitments are met such as: products are brought to market on time or ahead of schedule, products are brought to market at or below costs targets, products are produced to meet customer demand
- Product Life Cycle: Planning transition from old to new product, advertising and promotion, identifying needs and acting on recommendations on ways to promote product, maintaining strong departmental and interdepartmental communications ensuring any interested parties have knowledge of the product lines
- Lead user experience (human factors, touch points & KPIs) and development through discovery and delivering of highly desirable consumer experiences in a highly AGILE startup like fast-paced environment.
- Maintain an expert level knowledge base of the category, the competition and the consumer (consumer research methodologies, secondary syndicated data, creative marketing skills to develop the brand).
- Lead creation of delightful consumer experiences on Products, lead teams building scalable, reliable and highly secure solutions connecting millions of devices to Cloud.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent. MBA highly preferable with 15+ years product management and leadership experience in a consumer products company.
- Demonstrate the ability to bring to market several hardware products.
- Ability to lead a dynamic, fast paced, deadline driven team
- Ability to work cross functionally with engineers, product managers, supply chain, quality and marketing team members across the globe.
- Demonstrated management skills to lead and energetically motivate direct reports but also members of those functions who contribute to the business unit
- Expertise with UX, design and best in class software & hardware development processes.
- Analytical and quantitative skills; experience using hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
- Creative and Strategic thinker with visionary capabilities and conceptual thinking abilities, about how the consumer experience should work.
- Strong leadership and persuasive communication skills.
