Your Impact at Lila

As a Product Strategy MBA Resident on Lila’s Physical Sciences team, you’ll be at the forefront of commercializing AI-driven innovation in chemistry and materials science. You’ll partner with Product and Commercial leaders to define market strategies, evaluate business opportunities, and support go-to-market efforts for advanced materials applications. This role is ideal for a technical MBA student eager to shape the future of innovation by translating cutting-edge science into commercial impact.

What You'll Be Building

  • Create compelling presentation materials that translate technical capabilities into business value for industrial and technology audiences
  • Conduct market sizing, competitive research, and expert interviews across materials science domains (e.g., coatings, catalysts, energy)
  • Support customer segmentation, persona development, and use case mapping for advanced materials applications
  • Develop Target Product Profiles (TPPs), business cases, and positioning frameworks for new materials platforms
  • Build tools and documentation to enable scalable strategic decision-making across cross-functional teams </aside>

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Currently pursuing an MBA or equivalent graduate degree
  • Excellent analytical thinking and ability to synthesize complex information
  • Strong slide development and presentation skills with attention to visual clarity
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Ability to quickly understand scientific concepts in chemistry and materials science and convey them clearly to commercial stakeholders </aside>

Bonus Points For

  • Background in chemistry, materials science, physical sciences, or chemical engineering
  • Experience with market research, strategy consulting, or product management in technical industries
  • Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Notion, or similar platforms
  • Understanding of industrial market applications in materials (e.g., catalysis, energy, coatings)
  • Prior experience in chemicals, advanced materials, or deep tech environments </aside>
