  • Provide developer security training and awareness programs to product and engineering teams.

  • Encourage the automation of security-specific tasks and build tools that empower iHerb teams to self-serve their security needs.

  • Build strong partnerships and collaborate with product and engineering managers to champion security best practices across the organization.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats to ensure our products remain secure.

  • Manage and grow a team of application and product security engineers, guiding them to deliver high-impact projects that enhance our security posture.

  • Develop and maintain a set of high quality metrics that measure the effectiveness of the product security program at iHerb and regularly report to leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product security, application security, or a similar role.

  • 7+ years of engineering management experience.

  • Strong understanding of secure software development principles and common security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).

  • Experience with standardized frameworks for maturing software security (OWASP SAMM, BSIMM)

  • Experience with security testing tools and methodologies, i.e. SAST, DAST, SCA, and secret scanning.

  • Experienced in securing complex cloud environments (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with a bias for action.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and move forward with incomplete or lacking information.

  • Passion for building diverse, high-performing teams and growing engineers in a hybrid and remote setting.

  • Ability to identify, evaluate potential vendor products and negotiate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CSSLP).

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
