The Product Sales Representative will support and grow fertilizer sales, establish relationships with agricultural customers, manage logistics, and ensure compliance with regulations.
POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking a self-motivated Product Sales Representative to support and grow our Granulite Fertilizer sales across Massachusetts, New York, and Northern Pennsylvania for our Greener World brand. The ideal candidate maintains a positive solution-focused mindset under pressure, stays composed in tough situations and approaches challenges with confidence and determination. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in agricultural or fertilizer product sales who is passionate about building relationships and driving market development.As a key member of our commercial team, you will work directly with distributors, retailers, and agricultural customers to expand the reach of Granulite, a high-quality, sustainable granular biosolids fertilizer, throughout the regions. Ability to understand agronomic concepts and biosolids-related information and effectively communicate these to diverse audiences. You will also collaborate closely with our sales team in other territories to help manage inventory moving out of New England, coordinate logistics, and ensure timely movement of product to meet facility needs and maximize sales opportunities.Essential Job Functions

Perform all work in a safe, professional, and conscientious manner. Approximately 25-50% of time domestic travel throughout the sales territory is to meet with customers or for periodic training events.
Product Distribution
- Initiate and develop sales and perform customer service calls to identify and seek beneficial relationships with potential agriculture customers with a focus on increasing product revenue. Marketing approach will include agronomic considerations.
- Work directly with existing and new end user customers to support and ensure they understand agronomic, soil, and beneficial use consideration.
- Establish multi-layered marketing and distribution plan for agriculture markets to enhance diversification and financial performance of plant.
- Identify innovative product marketing opportunities to increase diversity through soil blending, land reclamation, and alternative fuel projects.
- Immediately respond to any biosolids land application complaints including site visits and meetings with town or city officials.
- Interact with local politicians, farm bureaus, conservationists, as needed for ongoing understanding of biosolids use in local plant areas.
- Provide logistics and technical guidance for land application programs, including agronomy, as needed for local plant support.
- Work with plant administrators to organize trucking logistics and site/stockpile locations.
Outreach Programs
- Focus outreach programs through customers, farmers, and the local agricultural communities.
- In conjunction with marketing, develop and continuously improve marketing materials that will educate users on biosolids benefits and use.
- Develop science-based literature promoting safe and beneficial recycling of biosolids.
- Attend biosolids and agriculture-related conferences.
- Grow and develop the Bay State Fertilizer bag distribution program.
Regulatory
- In conjunction with the Environmental Compliance Department, ensure product distribution activities maintain compliance with fertilizer regulation and land application permits and all applicable state and federal laws.
- Understand state-by-state differences in biosolids regulations and provide regulatory support to plants as needed.
- Assist in developing regulatory strategies to optimize product placement and value.
- Monitor and understand regulatory trends such as PFAS, phosphorus limitations, micro- contaminants, and personal care products and their potential impact on product marketing.
- As needed, be involved with national, regional and local organizations to positively influence laws and regulatory decisions around biosolids and fertilizers.
Qualifications
- Required knowledge and experience in the use and recycling of biosolids.
- Prior experience (including life experience) in an agricultural environment will be considered favorably.
- Associate’s degree in Soil Science or Agronomy or comparable, or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
- Certification in one or more of: crop advisory, agronomy, soil science, nutrient management planning, or allied disciplines considered a plus.
- Sales experience is desired.
- Netsuite experience a plus but not required.
- Willingness to learn nuances of various federal, state, and local regulations controlling fertilizer sales and distribution.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Standing, Sitting, Walking, and Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and out.
- Must possess the ability and flexibility to travel and work outdoors all year round.
- Applicants are expected to have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to travel domestically 25-50% with occasional overnight stays required.
