BASIC FUNCTION: The Data Product Owner is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of a data product, ensuring its effective use, high quality, and alignment with AAC business objectives. They define the data roadmap, execute adaptive prioritization, effectively engage with their business stakeholders, accomplish effective product vendor management, and drive the delivery of technical data solutions that exceed business/ customer expectations. They collaborate with numerous stakeholders across the Association who leverage accessible data to inform strategic business decisions through reporting, data science, analytics, and future data monetization efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Product Champion
- Responsible for continually driving the value of data towards a meaningful balance between user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility to address the data needs of the AAC business and customers
Product Feature Scope Definition and Prioritization
- Creates, defines scope, and prioritizes the data workstream, including ADO features, user stories, and defects based on the business value, customer needs, technical feasibility, resource utilization, and the return on investment to the customer/ business
- Collaborates with fellow Product Owners to strategically prioritize, address, and execute data-related solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serves as the primary liaison between the AAC business/ customer and the development teams to effectively deliver data solutions throughout all AAC business capabilities
- Provides clear and effective communication related to the data roadmap, data optimization opportunities (art of the possible), and data quality
Product Vendor Management:
- Manages the product vendor contracts related to data management to the benefit of AAC.
- Facilitates regularly scheduled data business review to focus on the highest priority AAC strategic goals
Product and Business Knowledge:
- Maintains an awareness of technology solutions related to data management through training, collaboration with other farm credit/ financial institutions, and individual research and investigations.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of AAC business processes and procedures, as well as how the end users/ customers use the data through AAC business capabilities
Development Team Lead
- Clearly communicates the data vision to the development team through the data roadmap, prioritization of work items and sprint planning
- Collaborates with the development team, the business stakeholders, and other delivery partners to establish solution release timelines
- Supports the development team’s completion of the team’s sprint commitments through supporting the mitigation of delivery impediments impacting successful team and actively being a source of clarification of the business need
- Foster an environment that encourages collaboration, iterative continuous improvement, learning from obstacles and errors, and the utilization of team and stakeholder feedback to drive improvement of the development team’s value delivery effectiveness
- Adopts an active role in 24 X 7 support by the prioritization and facilitation of short-term and long-term defects and outage resolutions
- Travel may be required in performance of job
- Perform other functions as assigned
LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:
This position will work at the direction of the Head of Product Management
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ten or more years of experience as a product owner, data manager, data analyst, business analyst or other leadership role related to data management
- Bachelor’s degree is desired.
- Certification for Product Ownership preferred but not required.
- Strong Understanding of technology tools and concepts related to data management
- Experience in Farm Credit and/or Financial Services related data management is desired, but not required
- Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with business delivery teams, leadership, senior management, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines
- Understanding of practical application of agile methodologies and other product delivery methodologies
- Proven ability to clearly define a set of requirements that pinpoint business challenges and identify technical, and business changes required to address them.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and business teams.
- Ability to navigate and resolve disagreements constructively
- Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills to evaluate, prioritize and categorize data in various formats for reports.
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft office suite, and applicable databases.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and sit at a desk for an extended period of time. Job requires extensive use of computers and phones. While performing the job, the employee is required to sit, crouch, kneel, crawl, reach and have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to work with typical hardware required. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Must be able to interact effectively with people at all levels of company. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.PAY RANGE:
Minimum $94,131.10 - Max $160,022.86 AnnualThis range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
Reflected is the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level.
Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
