The Product Owner will manage software projects, lead Agile ceremonies, oversee product backlogs, and communicate with stakeholders, ensuring effective delivery.
We're seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our team as a contractor, managing the end-to-end lifecycle of custom software projects. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, translating complex technical requirements into actionable development work using Agile methodology.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Lifecycle Management
- Oversee 1-2 concurrent software projects through complete development lifecycle
- Lead discovery sessions with SMEs and clients to define project requirements
- Author business requirements and translate them into detailed functional/technical specifications
- Create executable user stories with clear acceptance criteria for development teams
Agile Leadership
- Organize and facilitate Agile ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, standups, demos, retrospectives)
- Own and prioritize product backlog, negotiating scope around triple constraints
- Monitor team capacity and plan velocity for sustainable delivery
- Track progress using burn-down/burn-up charts and project management tools
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for product direction and project status
- Communicate project health, risks, and performance metrics to stakeholders
- Anticipate risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Negotiate scope changes and adapt to evolving priorities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, UX/UI, and Marketing teams
- Facilitate technical conversations and process improvements
- Ensure alignment with client-specific processes and methodologies
- Lead project teams with authority through each development stage
- 2-4 years Product Owner or technical project management experience
- Strong knowledge of Scrum/Kanban/Agile/DevOps methodologies
- Proficiency with Jira or similar project management tools
- Excellent analytical and communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or similar certification
- Experience with martech/software development projects
- Background in client services or agency environment
- Flexible hours based on project needs
