At Wave, we help small businesses to thrive so the heart of our communities beats stronger.  We work in an environment buzzing with creative energy and inspiration. No matter where you are or how you get the job done, you have what you need to be successful and connected. The mark of true success at Wave is the ability to be bold, learn quickly and share your knowledge generously.

As a Product Marketing Manager at Wave, you will lead the go-to-market strategy for new products and features, amplify the value of our core financial tools, and enable our customers to unlock that value across the full product journey—from sign-up to conversion to long-term success. This is a critical role on the Marketing team, sitting at the intersection of Product, Growth, Brand, and Customer Success. You’ll turn customer insight and product innovation into compelling stories and experiences that drive adoption, retention, and expansion—especially in our free-to-paid motions.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

  • Go-to-Market Strategy:
  • Lead the GTM process for new products, features, and enhancements—developing strategies, messaging, and launch plans that drive acquisition and activation.
  • Partner with Product and Growth teams to identify launch readiness, define success metrics, and orchestrate in-product and outbound campaigns.
  • Lifecycle & In-Product Marketing:
  • Build lifecycle journeys and product education experiences that guide users from first value to revenue-generating actions like pro tier subscription, payments setup or payroll activation.
  • Create in-product messaging, onboarding flows, and engagement content that drive usage milestones and unlock Pro-tier conversion.
  • Customer & Market Intelligence:
  • Surface customer insights, use cases, and usage patterns that shape positioning, roadmap decisions, and content.
  • Own competitive intelligence and collaborate cross-functionally to bring market context to Marketing and Product.
  • Cross-Functional Enablement:
  • Develop enablement materials (messaging guides, demos, FAQ) for Customer-facing and Support teams.
  • Partner with Brand, Content, and Growth to bring differentiated stories to life across web, product, lifecycle, and performance assets.

You'll thrive here if you have:

  • Have 5+ years of product marketing experience within SaaS, ideally in a product-led model.
  • Love interpreting customer behavior and translating insights into compelling value propositions and user experiences.
  • Have a knack for working across teams—from Product to Brand to Lifecycle—and bringing people together to execute with clarity and purpose.
  • Are equally comfortable diving into data dashboards and crafting messaging that inspires action from entrepreneurial audiences.
  • Are energized by working in a fast-paced environment where creativity, curiosity, and experimentation are valued.

At Wave, we value diversity of perspective. Your unique experience enriches our organization. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Let’s talk about how you can thrive here!

Wave is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible candidate experience. If you require accommodations during the recruitment process, please let us know by emailing [email protected]. We will work with you to meet your needs.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
