Role: Product Marketing Manager

Base Salary: $115,000 - $140,000 USD

Description: Blackthorn is looking for an experienced and self-starting Product Marketing Manager to join Blackthorn’s growing Marketing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a scrappy, high-impact environment and is eager to build a product marketing foundation from the ground up.

You’ll be the connective tissue between our Product, Sales, CS, and Marketing teams, driving compelling product positioning, strategic launches, sales enablement, and customer insights across our Salesforce-native apps.

What you’ll do:

  • Define and Own Product Positioning: Craft and continuously refine differentiated messaging frameworks that resonate across personas and industries like higher education, nonprofits, and healthcare, emphasizing the value of being Salesforce native.
  • Go-to-Market Execution: Develop and own end-to-end GTM strategies for new products and major features. Define launch tiers, build narratives, and execute internal/external campaigns to support adoption.
  • Sales Enablement: Create compelling collateral, decks, battlecards, one-pagers, and training for the Sales and CS teams to support the buyer journey.
  • Customer & Market Insight: Conduct customer interviews and market research to uncover pain points, use cases, and competitive dynamics to inform positioning and product direction.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product to influence the roadmap based on market feedback and partner with CS to uncover expansion and retention levers.
  • Competitive & Market Intelligence: Build frameworks to monitor the competitive landscape and market trends in Salesforce-native apps and event tech.
  • Thought Leadership Support: Partner with the broader Marketing team to produce product-centric website content, blog posts, webinars, and case studies that spotlight customer success and product value.

What we look for:

  • 5–8 years of experience in Product Marketing at a B2B SaaS company, ideally with startup or scale-up experience where you’ve been a team of one (or few).
  • Strong GTM operator: Proven track record of planning and executing successful launches and building sales enablement tools from scratch.
  • Strategic thinker and doer: You're comfortable moving from high-level positioning to writing feature-level content.
  • Customer-centric: Skilled at connecting with users, distilling insights, and turning them into actionable messaging.
  • Exceptional communicator: Strong writer and storyteller, with an ability to translate technical details into clear value for users and buyers.
  • Collaborative mindset: Able to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • Experience in event tech or event management software
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem, including AppExchange products and how they integrate into broader Salesforce workflows
  • Exposure to vertical SaaS or industries like Higher Ed, Nonprofits, or Healthcare

What we offer

  • An incredible team of smart and supportive people
  • A deep feeling of satisfaction and completion
  • Fully remote global team working from home
  • Stock options for every employee
  • Flexible work week
  • $400 office stipend
  • Maternity/Paternity leave
  • Student loan debt assistance
  • Pledge 1% - time off during the year for helping nonprofits
  • Health insurance contribution (if in the US)
  • Children's 529 college fund assistance (if in the US)

About Blackthorn

We have four native apps on the Salesforce AppExchange for managing Events, collecting Payments, sending Messages, and protecting Data. We’re a growing, distributed team with teammates in countries across the world. We move fast and have a significant structure in our product build process. Everyone on our team has deep experience within their respective roles. Our customers span from 1-person companies to Fortune 500s.

Why is our work important

Our apps continue to be easy to use and setup, due to continuous refinements with our UX. Most apps in our space take weeks to implement; ours take hours, and they work more flexibly, achieving significantly more functionality than our competitors. We believe enterprise apps should be as easy to use as consumer mobile apps.

What the job will bring you

A deep level of satisfaction through ownership of your role. You'll get more autonomy than at other companies (our team has told us). Connection. Our team is tightly knit, assisted through our annual company trip (as we're remote). Challenge. We're trying to move as quick as possible. This is not for you if you want to sit back and chill. As Ray Dalio says about life: "Meaningful work and meaningful relationships" provide meaning to life. We aim to bring this.

While we are a Remote first culture we are currently only able to accept applicants in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KY, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, SD, TX, VA, WA, and WI

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants.
