Working closely with the Head of Product Marketing, you’ll help translate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling messaging for a range of audiences, including both internal Blackpoint teams, such as sales and marketing, and external audiences ranging from CEOs to frontline IT technicians. You'll partner across product management, sales, customer success, and enablement teams to launch new products, create go-to-market strategies, develop sales and training collateral, and support our demand generation efforts. This is a highly collaborative and strategic role that blends technical understanding, storytelling, market insight, and execution to drive product awareness, education, and adoption in a highly competitive, fast-growing market.

Responsibilities

  • Go-to-Market Planning – Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches and feature releases, including positioning, messaging, and launch plans in partnership with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams.

  • Messaging and Positioning – Craft compelling, customer-centric messaging and positioning that clearly communicates the unique benefits of Blackpoint’s products and services across different buyer personas.

  • Sales & Marketing Enablement – Create and maintain high-impact product marketing assets—including pitch decks, one-pagers, battlecards, website content, and product videos—to support sales and customer engagement.

  • Internal Education & Enablement – Educate internal teams (Sales, Support, Enablement, etc.) on new product capabilities and market positioning through trainings, presentations, internal documentation, and workshops.

  • External Content Development – Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop external-facing content such as product announcements, blog posts, webinars, case studies, and email campaigns to drive awareness and adoption.

  • Customer Engagement & Feedback – Regularly meet with customers and partners to gather feedback, validate messaging, and stay aligned with evolving business needs and use cases in the cybersecurity space.

  • Competitive Intelligence & Analysis – Conduct in-depth competitive intelligence to understand the cybersecurity landscape, identify key differentiators, and provide insights that inform product strategy and sales enablement.

  • Event and Tradeshow Speaking – Speak at industry events, webinars, and trade shows to promote Blackpoint’s platform, articulate our unique value propositions, and build brand awareness within the cybersecurity and managed service provider (MSP) communities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, customer success, or sales engineering roles within the cybersecurity industry.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies, concepts, and market trends—including common tools, frameworks, and buyer personas; must be capable of intelligently evaluating Blackpoint’s offerings relative to competitors and articulating how our platform fits into modern security strategies.

  • Proven ability to lead small to medium cross-functional projects with minimal oversight; highly self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of crafting clear, concise, and compelling content for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated experience engaging directly with customers, partners, or external stakeholders via webinars, presentations, events, or training sessions.

  • Comfortable working across departments (Product, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Success) to gather input, build alignment, and drive initiatives to completion.

  • Strong analytical and research skills; able to synthesize market, customer, and competitive insights into actionable strategies and messaging.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Security) is preferred. An MBA or other relevant graduate education is a plus but not required.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
