Job Description

The Channel Marketing Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of channel-specific marketing strategies to achieve P&L objectives.  You will be developing channel-specific marketing strategies, planning marketing campaigns, and managing marketing communications.   You will be skilled at working on cross-functional teams including Category Management, Finance, Digital, Sales, Brand, and finance.  The ideal candidate is a service-oriented, motivated, passionate, creative, and collaborative individual who has a deep understanding of distribution channels, marketing experience, and the consumer journey.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design the commercial channel marketing strategy, influence, and align with sales colleagues, key internal business partners, and other cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with Product Management teams to identify and implement growth initiatives within our current product portfolio as well as expansion areas.
  • Understand business unit P&L objectives to make sound go-to-market recommendations in order to drive top and bottom-line growth.
  • Collaborate with sales, product marketing, and brand execution teams in the areas of:
    • Growth initiatives
    • Program development and implementation
    • Research including competitive insights and recommendations
    • Presentations and training delivery on new and existing products
  • Collaborate with Brand COE for Commercialization planning & execution
  • Provide input to brand and print, digital, video & merchandising messaging and ensure they align with the overall channel strategy and drive the best possible consumer experience
  • Determine platforms to ensure sales team has modern marketing tools & techniques to enable sales
  • Build and maintain channel expertise through field travel, attendance at industry events, competitive analysis and close collaboration with sales and business unit partners.
  • Lead cross-functional planning to ensure alignment and preparedness across multiple stakeholders – delivering on time and on-quality work
  • Partner with brand execution team to ensure development of digital collateral to drive product launches, promotions, key marketing campaigns, programs within channel and customer-specific marketing.
  • Analyze market data, trends, consumer preferences, and competitor behavior to optimize marketing strategies.
  • Evaluate and improve existing channel marketing strategies
  • Occasional travel required (up to 25%)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of sales, product management, or marketing experience required. Channel Leadership experience preferred. Experience within the Consumer/Durable Goods industry preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong multi-tasking and project management skills
  • Strong resilience to find solutions; independent thinking and problem-solving
  • Experience managing agency partners preferred.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $60,000 USD - $99,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
