Drive discovery and delivery for Manifest, translating operational needs into product requirements, roadmaps, and shipped AI-enabled capabilities. Collaborate with engineering, design, and customers, support deployments, track usage and impact, and ensure adoption in mission-critical defense logistics environments.
Tagup is a defense technology company founded at MIT that is delivering logistics decision advantage with next-generation AI. We’re growing rapidly and are looking for change-makers passionate about delivering innovative technologies to solve the most challenging problems in the world’s highest stakes environments. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in meaningful work that strengthens national security and contributes to the success of U.S. and allied forces. Join us in shaping the future of defense logistics for a safer tomorrow.
We’re hiring a Product Manager to help drive the execution and adoption of Manifest, Tagup’s mission-critical platform for defense logistics. In this role, you will work closely with product leadership, engineering, design, customers, and company leadership to translate complex operational needs into clear product requirements, ship high-impact capabilities, and ensure our software becomes indispensable to the operators and decision-makers who rely on it.
This role is ideal for a high-ownership product builder who is comfortable with ambiguity, technically fluent enough to partner deeply with engineers, and energized by spending time with customers in operational environments.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to translate product strategy into a clear, sequenced roadmap for Manifest, with a focus on measurable customer outcomes in readiness, efficiency, and resilience.
- Own product discovery and delivery for specific product areas, from problem definition through requirements, launch, iteration, and adoption.
- Spend time with operators, planners, maintainers, and decision-makers to understand workflows, pain points, constraints, and mission needs.
- Convert customer and operational insights into crisp product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and delivery plans.
- Work closely with engineering to scope, prioritize, and ship mission-critical software in a high-tempo environment.
- Support the delivery of AI-enabled workflows by helping define user expectations, evaluation criteria, edge cases, and success metrics.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to support pilots, deployments, training, feedback loops, and adoption.
- Track product usage, customer feedback, operational impact, and delivery progress to inform prioritization and continuous improvement.
- Communicate clearly across audiences, including operators, executives, engineers, and technical stakeholders.
- Bring urgency, discipline, and attention to detail to product execution in environments where reliability and trust matter.
Requirements
- 3+ years of product management, product operations, technical program management, or related experience building and shipping software products.
- Experience working on enterprise, data-intensive, operational, or mission-critical software.
- Strong product instincts for breaking down ambiguous problems, identifying user needs, sequencing delivery, and balancing customer outcomes with engineering constraints.
- Technical fluency: you can reason credibly with engineers about data systems, APIs, integrations, workflows, tradeoffs, and system behavior.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to turn complex information into clear requirements, decisions, and narratives.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, customer success, sales, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment with shifting priorities and incomplete information.
- Willingness to engage directly with military or government customers and travel as needed.
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; Tagup is unable to sponsor visas at this time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering software to DoD, IC, DHS, allied defense organizations, government agencies, or other highly regulated customers.
- Familiarity with logistics, maintenance, supply chain, readiness, fleet operations, or operational planning workflows.
- Experience with AI, machine learning, optimization, decision-support tools, or data products.
- Experience supporting products deployed in constrained, edge, disconnected, denied, degraded, or intermittent environments.
- Prior military service, government service, or defense contractor experience.
- Experience working with forward-deployed engineering, field teams, or customer implementation teams.
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
If you want to build products that matter, this is a rare opportunity to work on software where the mission is real, the technical depth is non-trivial, and the work is already deployed in environments where better decisions can have immediate impact.
