Overview:

The Product Manager role is responsible for defining Product Customer Requirements and customer scenarios as input to the product definition process. This position involves close interaction with Product Marketing, Development Managers, key customers, Sales, and Professional Services.

This is a remote position anywhere in the US.

What you will do:

  • Gathering requirements from prospects, evaluators, customers and internal sources, writing user requirements in Rational Requisite Pro, defining scenarios to address those user needs, creating Product Requirements documents.
  • Responsible for collecting, prioritizing and translating customer needs, market and competitive input into product requirements (using Rational Requisite Pro) that provide the company with a unique competitive advantage.
  • Responsible for managing the project team that is implementing the products and features that you have defined
  • Collaborate within Product Management and with Product Development to prioritize and trade off user requirements and features to create Product Requirements Document (PRD).
  • Responsible for monitoring competitive actions, announcement and activities as well as working with Product Marketing to communicate the unique Double-Take Software product value to the customer.
  • Providing input to Product Marketing and Marketing Communication on product features and competitive positioning including reviewing final advertising and lead generation materials.
  • Positioning the product for all markets and all buyers.
  • Document customer needs in a way that identifies the customer root issues.
  • Communicating Product Features & Benefits (Feature Guide)
  • Customer Feature Request Reporting
  • Solicit Customer Feedback on an ongoing basis.
  • Support Customer Advisory Board Efforts
  • Present Product Roadmaps to Customers & Partners.
  • Product Concept Documents

What we are looking for:

  • A bachelors degree in related field
  • Experience with Project Management or formal Project Management training
  • The candidate must be capable of managing multiple project priorities and have strong communication skills with an ability to adjust communication to the intended audience. A comfort with technical and non-technical communications on the same or related issues is necessary.
  • Candidate must be capable of collecting information from multiple sources and integrating the information to find creative ways to meet individual user needs while maintaining product value to a broad audience.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in Product Management in a software company with an understanding of Product development and QA processes.
  • A strong knowledge and experience with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
