Product Manager

Vicarious Surgical is hiring a Product Manager to join the marketing team in Waltham, MA. In this role, you will be the “voice of the customer” on product core teams, developing a go to market strategy, and identifying future opportunities for growth. 

Vicarious Surgical is a next generation robotics company developing a disruptive technology with the goal of increasing the efficiency of surgical procedures, improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a marketer to join Vicarious Surgical and be a key member of the team that will launch a truly transformative robotic solution to the market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Design Validation activity, ensuring product design effectively meets User Needs and usability targets
  • Provide marketing leadership to product development teams by clearly defining customer needs and product requirements.
  • Represent the voice of the customer on cross-functional teams to prioritize business and user needs.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with KOL’s and Vicarious Surgical Center of Excellence Partners
  • Develop a differentiated value proposition by stakeholder, claims strategy, product labeling, product segmentation and positioning strategy to establish a strong Vicarious brand.
  • Become a subject matter expert of customer needs, market dynamics, and technology trends to identify significant growth opportunities and accelerate market penetration.
  • Execute market research activities to drive strategic business, platform, portfolio decisions.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative market data to identify trends in the market and translate learnings into actionable and measurable business opportunities.
  • Create a global market overview of targeted surgical applications and trends in approaches, technologies, and competitive landscape.
  • Partner with cross-functional partners to optimize product development processes and tools to drive efficiency across project teams.
  • Develop needed project proposals, market models, metrics (ROIs, NPVs) and market assumptions to enable strategic discussions and informed decisions.
  • Establish immediate, mid-term and long-term global product roadmap that reflects key unmet needs, prioritized business opportunities, and Vicarious Surgical’s clear right to win.
  • Support stakeholder engagements to include industry educational meetings and events, on-site meetings, and labs.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in upstream marketing, product development, strategy, engineering and/or product management.
  • 5+ years (or 3+ years with advanced degree) of relevant experience in medical devices, surgical equipment, robotics or another highly regulated industry. While medical device industry experience is desirable, this may be a terrific opportunity for someone with relevant experience to make the transition.
  • Desire to operate in a pre-commercial startup environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a variety of stakeholders, including executive leadership, surgeons, and R&D engineers.
